When I had an "A", my answer was "I didn't buy it for the fuel economy.

Now in my "B" I say "19". Because it is.

We get about 9 MPH until we get where we're going then we get 32 with the toad. I think we use less gas now then when we both drove to work every day.

I'll tell them that we get about 6.5-7.0 mpg and then say 'what does your house get'?
(stole that from somebody as I thought it was a funny answer). They usually laugh.

I get that question quite often, my response to the non-rver is it gets about the same as a Lincoln Navigator, to the rver - 6.7 - 7.8 MPG actual.

My.old 1989 Chevy 3500 4x4 crewcab dually with 454 got 15 mpg empty or loaded. (8 highway and 7 city equals 15 right???) I think any answer with a sense of humor will be just fine.

Just tell them that if you have to ask, you can't afford it.

I usually tell them a variation of what Mr. Mark says. I normally say that I average about 7 mpg, which is not very good for a car but it is great mileage for a house.

Put your credit card in the pump and look the other way as most people who have a motorhome have bigger fish to fry!

Gee the truth would be a good answer 9.2 in my case as I have recoreded every gallon of fuel put into the tank - I am a retired accountant so my spread sheet is always up to date
