We are all settled in our spot in Bothell. We were supposed to move on Monday, but whoever was supposed to come into the site we are in now canceled, so we stayed put. Not as a great a view out our back window as the other site would have been, but it will do. Last week we were checking out the site we were scheduled to move to and discovered one of our neighbors would have been a guy I worked with about 6 years ago. What are the odds of that happening? Been pretty busy getting the last odds and ends out of the house and off to storage or our trailer while getting our son and his family ready to move in by the end of the month. Once that's all done, we'd love to see anyone that would like to stop by our place in Bothell. 2003 Suburban K2500LT 4WD, 8.1L, 3.73 2008 Adirondack 31RK-DSL Our blog ![]() |

hobo wrote: ![]() Sold our trailer, money in the bank. We are sad and happy. We are done camping. Just plan on car trips or airplanes, maybe a train now and then. Holly and I miss all you folks very much, at 80 years old it was getting just to much. We would still like to have lunch with anyone that has the time when you come to camping world. Thank all of you for all the years, Holly and Hobo Know how you feel its hard to, give up after so many years of camping. Carol and I still travel some, we went back to Missouri last month and we rented a park model in Cathedral city for the month OF January so keep on enjoying life one day at a time. Well, got down to Portland and back ok. Couldn't take the MH as the place I usually go to for repairs, exhaust manifold gasket, is cutting back and I have to go to a new place,Flying Wrench, and couldn't get it in till this week. My aunt Roma turned 91 on thursday and for her birthday we drove up to Skamania Lodge on Friday and did the zipline. Had a ball and it is an awesome experience to zip along thru the trees on a cable high above the ground or to walk across a swinging bridge that does it's best to throw you off. She is the oldest person to finish the whole course and I have to admit that she did better than me on the rappell course. You clip into a cable and swing out into space.ooppss. Not really easy to do when you have acrophobia. We then went back to the lodge and had some beer and waited to go to dinner. They have a Friday nite buffet that just doesn't quit and all the food was perfectly prepared. Hate to be a should have, would have, but we should have beaten Auburn if they wouldn't have had that 105 yard runback for a touchdown and the interception for a TD. We totally outplayed Auburn. We are now first in the nation with fewest passing yards allowed,153 in two games, and Horton was named NATIONAL defensive player of the week and so was the Defensive co-ordinator.

Wow,what a day, Cougs won, puppies won,Mariners won and all the Pac 12 teams, except Cal,won.. Now for the biggie tomorrow when the Seahawks take down the 49ers. A note on the Cougs,Auburn won #3 in a convincing fashion and the commentators today said that we should have beaten Auburn. |

OK you Oregonians - a question about your state park fee policies!! First let me preface this rant/question with the statement that we LOVE your coastal parks. We are slowly working our way down the coast for the 2nd. year in row for SC. This summer, we bought a Prius V. I have heard conflicting reports about dolly towing a Prius and have never been a fan of it anyway. So Carolyn is driving it behind me going south. After all, we nailed 48 mpg with it from Federal Way to the Costco at Warrenton! We pull into Nehalem Bay SP this afternoon to check in. The ranger gave me a parking pass for the rig. I asked if we needed one for the car. Silly me! He said since we were DRIVING it in, it would be an extra $5/day! I wasn't about to raise the ire of the ranger, Carolyn had her experience with that several years ago in Colorado about their "extra vehicle" fees!! WIH is the rational for charging extra on a car that has to be driven into the campground and not towed? ![]() ![]() ![]() I suspect I already now the reasoning for that extra charge, but let me hear how it was rationalized down here in Oregon!! Opps - I just saw the statement on the park map - "you may park a second vehicle at your site for an extra fee". So they charge you even if you tow your car in as well?!? ![]() |

Just put a tow bar on the back of the MH and tell them that you unhooked the toad outside the park. I have never had to pay an extra vehicle fee in Oregon for the toad when actually towing it and we did pull the bit with the toad being unhooked, but we had actually unhooked it to drive into a place that we couldn't get the MH into before we got to the state park. The folks at the park never even batted an eye when I said that the car was my towed car. Mebbee you got a park ranger that was having a bad day. There have been a lot of those out there lately.I have had better luck with the folks at private parks and actually the prices for some of those are as good or better than the state parks. |
