Took the rig out for a drive this morning ( first drive in about 7 weeks) to circulate all the fluids, charge up the truck batteries, and generally check out all the systems before my first horse show of 2013. Pulled out the tire pump as the back left tire was down about 15 psi right rear was down 7, fronts were off by 4. The airbags needed 5 psi. Went out on I580 and flew up the Altamont pass to N Flynn road, truck acted like there wasn't even a TC in the bed. I really hated to turn around and come back home. 2011 F350 6.7L Diesel 4x4 CrewCab longbed Dually, 2019 Lance 1062, Torqlift Talons, Fast Guns, upper and lower Stable Loads, Super Hitch, 48" Super Truss, Airlift loadlifter 5000 extreme airbags ![]() |

Buzzcutt - good idea. Always wondered how on earth you'd get something back if it fell in that shower drain. Last night we returned from a weekend camping trip and parked it without draining so the propane is still keeping her heated. Tonight or tomorrow I'll winterize. Am I the only one that thinks winterizing the campr on New Year's Eve is a perfectly acceptable way to celebrate another year? I did discover (after popping a GFI in the garage, a GFI in the camper, and my 30A camper post breaker....that the block heater in my Duramax is no longer playing nicely so I gotta get that baby changed out soon. |

Took off my HappiJacs and shipped them out today to HappiJac yo be refurbished. They are upgrading them to the new style and then ship them back to me. So for now the camper has to stay on the truck. Of course I don't take it off anyway as that is the main purpose of the truck. Can't wait to get them back so we can maybe get in a trip for a bit. HappiJac said about 2 1/2 to 3 weeks and they should be able to have them back to me. I need to try and get out for a quick one before they operate on my foot as there won't be much camping till it is healed as they have to cut some bones and then have to wait till it heals and sure it has to be the right foot so pretty hard to run the go pedal and can't walk on it. Hey Butch50, All the best and quick recovery with foot. I just installed new generation Happijacs on my 2012 Adventurer. Old ones with powder coated innertubes were rusted and peeling. Happijac sent the new galvinized dipped innertubes free under warranty.Nice upgrade so far.. |

Braved the Cold...well sort of...Minus 18 F outside warmed the Camper to above zero with Furnace and then wired in a second 12 Volt outlet at the panel around the corner from the AM/FM/CD player and XM receiver also added a switch to the existing and to the new 12 volt outlet so I will be able to turn off the XM and turn off the 12 Volt Electric Blanket without pulling the 12 volt plugs. Nice convenience modification. Anxiously awaiting the next opportunity to hit the road...for now must stick around to keep the road plowed out and a few local jobs like guiding snowmobiler's....darn work sure can get in the way of fun. Today I installed a new Shurflo Revolution water pump. The old one died and I'll repair it and keep it as a spare. The new one is much quieter and my outside shower spray has never shot that far. 3 gpm compared to 2.8 or whatever it was. Then I finished winterizing as I had only blown out the water lines. Not my camper, but the truck; Flushed and filled the radiator. (2006 Dodge diesel. They take a 'special' antifreeze don'tyaknow...) Installed battery disconnects on both batteries after finding them dead from a rechargeable flashlight that had a bad battery. It kept trying to charge the flashlight until the truck batteries were dead. I sometimes don't drive the truck for weeks. Replaced the differential lube front and rear. |
