Topic: So what did you do to your Truck Camper today?

Posted By: jmckelvy on 07/16/15 08:38am

Not today but recently changed the 22 inch TV for a Samsung 22 inch.

Its USB port allows streaming media directly from a USB stick or hard drive. It came with an external power module supplying 14 volts to the TV. I made up a cord to plug into the 12 volt outlet. Works great now no longer requires using an inverter to supply 120 VAC.

Ran the generator for an hour to charge the batteries in storage. Hung up some Febreze vent deodorizers to try and remove the glue smell from a repair done in January!

Tested out new theory on why BC20 back up camera keeps coming on randomly, all better. Just required purchase of on board battery, yes we are entering the 20th century at last, to wire power supply to directly. Have new convertor/charger bought last year but didn't install but am now to take care of battery. Replaced back door lower window and new trim as that last off the beaten track road finished it and replaced a broken screen door latch. Just have to finish installs next week and wash the mud of event then wax the rig. Truck due for service soon too along with FJ. Never ends but at least I don't have time to get bored.

Used a couple of pill bottles to isolate and insolate the 12V connections:

Installed a fan in the fridge to hopefully increase the cooling efficency.

I bought this fan off Ebay:

Made a couple brackets to securly mount is. drilled a hole through the back of the refrigerator and wired it up.

Gathered up last of supplies to install new converter and battery. Guess I'm on my own figuring out exactly how to do it. No input and post has disappeared. Oh well, forum was fun and interesting for a while anyway. Yall stay busy and happy camping.

Got mine out of the moth balls over the weekend- making sure everything still works... had not been used in almost 2 years. De-winterized the plumbing (is it bad to leave the RV anti-freeze in too long?)

The fridge and water fired up fine, charged the batteries that were stored in the garage (heated in the winter) and they seem to take a charge OK with minimal maintenance.

Camping is no longer the priority it once was.
