Topic: So what did you do to your Truck Camper today?

Posted By: ggadwa on 10/04/14 11:34am

Yesterday I installed a Maxx Air Vent cover over the Fantastic Fan on the rear center roof vent. I used SikaFlex 505UV sealant. After a very wet and very very rainy week in SE Alaska we decided a rain cover over the most used roof vent was a must have!!! Alaska was great, but its nice to be out of the constant rainy weather of SE Alaska.

Cleaned things up and made some minor modifications. One of the furcampers has nearly gone blind. Desgined a simple barricade to keep her off the couch. We are afraid she will misjudge the jump up or down and get hurt.

Will spend the night tonight at Camp Driveway to see what other changes we need to make to keep it safe and fun when we go out camping.

Fixed an air leak in my air bag tubing.

Installed (3) 12v cigarette lighter recepticles on the outside of the camper to recharge cell phones etc and to power the broadband MiFi unit when it sits on the roof of the camper for better reception.

Just unloaded the TC after 79 days, a little over 6K miles, 625 gals of gas, 5 refills on the LP. Across the country to MT and then back home. The scenery was great, the rig worked great and the fishing was very good. We went from 90* weather to 100* then 40's; 20's now back to 60's.

Mello Mike: Is just the 'stingers' that are aluminum or the mounts too? If so, do you know if they sell the stingers separately?

Both are aluminum. The "stingers" or inserts don't fit in the old tie down receivers anyhow. You have to buy the complete front and rear sets.

Since the rieco jacks have a full 360 swivel. Cleaned up my jacks loosening the 3 set screws and tucking them in closer to the TC.

I replaced ALL the interior lights with LEDs. After purchasing some really Crappy ones on eBay from your know where, I did more research and got some I really like without the dreaded blue tint!
