Added a side mounting rack for a new Porta-bote. Will be taking the Porta-bote into the eastern sierras in June and hitting the small lakes along the way.

Took the truck over to the storage, put the camper on and took it home.
De - winterized it. Washed the whole thing including the roof. Took it back over to storage and unloaded it.
Now its ready for a summer of camping.

Busy day today...washed camper, both motorcycles, and both trucks (Silverado for camper and Honda Ridgeline for daily drive). Had everything out for washing...so why not!

Want to stay ahead of the power curve since the month will fly by and then it's off to Alaska :-)

Hopefully, it will stop snowing before you get here...

Drove it home for the very first time! We just picked up our new (used) 2012 Eagle Cap 1060 and our new truck too, a Cert. per-owned 2010 F350 crew Cab Dually 4x4. Out TC is amazing! We are so looking forward to all of the adventures we are going to have. We are total newbies, so I'm sure I'll be checking in here often for your advice, wisdom and humor. Posted a pic of our new rig on the photo page.

Just returned from two weeks camping at Oregon's coastal State Parks. They are so very nice and in April they are not crowded. Came home to find the Baseboard Heater I ordered (Dimplex Linear Proportional Convector Heater) had arrived. Sure wish it had arrived before we departed. Oh well..anxious so got right to installing it. It is a good looking 750 watt 120 volt AC heater with a built in Electronic Thermostat. I wired it into the Air Conditioner Breaker as both will never be used at the same time. Since so many state parks and other locations have Electric Hookups this should be really nice. Even our Honda EU2000 could run it if desired.
Credit goes to "skipro3" for the idea!!!

Make sure you check the overhang above the heater. Any area over those outlet vents will get very hot. I fabricated an aluminum shield lined with heat reflective tape to install above mine. The heat is now deflected out and away from the carpeted overhang that I had to contend with. Best way to check is to just run the heater for 15-20 minutes and check the area above by touching it.

Removed my dome type satellite dish, which stopped working as soon as it got wet and installed an automatic satellite dish. Good weather now, so I couldn't test it in rainy conditions yet.

Depending on when you go

17 May, last year, Fort Nelson, a good foot of snow, we stopped and camped on top of Summit Pass, It was realy snowing, could not go any further, next day was OK.

Have a nice trip, don't worry, just wait until it clears up!
