Call us crazy, we gave it some serious thought and decided to stay for the summer. Praying the Texas summer this year is on the mild side [emoticon]

[emoticon] Thinking about it. May, might change our mind! Seems that Corrizo Springs has had a good amount of new gate assignments lately. So maybe the slowdown in drilling for gas has brought more rigs down to this area. Sure hope the summer is less hot. I would like to stay at least through May.

We will be back on the gate the 25th after my wifes recover from the ruptured appendics and then a fainting that ending her up in the hospital for 3 days. That stopped the trip to FL. but she is getting better each day so hope next week does not come too soon.

Not sure where all the new gate assignments have had them manned from.

Should be Spring now with the greening of the area. Just hope for a long nice 70 degree days for weeks,,,[emoticon]

First, I sincerely hope things get better-for your wife and you.
I was wondering about assignments myself. We got this gate a week ago and were told we were the only people waiting. Someone said they called some people-maybe some new applicants? Funny how we go from yards full of people to needing some [emoticon] Such is life in the gate guarding world-it's all about timing.

I am counting the days until we can have a normal life again. We will stay until the first week in May. It has been quite stressful this round with all the mud. Take your pick dust or mud. Long time until next summer. To the ones staying through the summer, my wish is that you have a cooler summer.

If you are waiting for a Gate Guard Services gate and you are anywhere other than Whittset or Carrizo Springs, you will wait for some time. I don't know why, but they use whoever is at those 2 yards before they will use any at the other yards.

we were in the yard (Gonzales) 4 days short of being a month. I wanted to go to Whitset but was told Jamie knew we were in Gonzales waiting, yet others still went out before us. Still not sure how they do their notifications/waiting list.

Just happy to be working, this job will be over in about 2 days.

Well, tomorrow Betsy gets to work our gate by herself. The Woods, on a gate off 97 west of Tilden, have a Drs appointment in CC, so I will cover their gate for the day. Supposed to be heavy rain, so could be an interesting day.....[emoticon]
