Hey Garry! Hey Ticki! Hey D1! Howdy Cajun! Glad to see you're all still hanging in there. Jane and I are planning two trips in the next few months: Lake Superior this month (maybe as far as Copper Harbor) and the Grand Tetons in September. I'll be airing out the 67 Avion and getting the systems up and working. I've had issues with the AGM batteries, losing several sets of them over the past 2 years. With 3 batteries in a set, that's a nice piece of change. Hopefully we'll get it working properly so there are smooth trips.

Glad to see new folks on board.

Sounds like a fun time...enjoy those trips and be safe.
We are currently down in Big Bend Texas...No didnt take the 65 C10, But it is ready for the road, and actually likes sitting on a trailer instead of a truck bed. AND I am actually able to carry my small Yamaha Motor cycle below the bed overhang.
Sorry no pics..the way I used to send them doesn't seem to work anymore

All this talk has me excited for more projects on my C11. Has anyone tried replacing the entrance door hinges with a piano hinge? I see a lot of wear on mine and have been entertaining different ways to reinforce the door and frame. (We have camped out in some gusty areas that haven't been kind to the door)

My '68 came with a piano hinge plus all the interior doors . I thought they all did .

I’ve used stainless piano hinges on all my interior doors plus all the outside compartment doors on Argo, fastening them either with rivets or screws. They work like a charm and are very clean looking.
I buy them from McMaster Carr in the widths I need and cut them to length with a hacksaw. They can be fastened with countersunk screws or, in the case of the rear door, I’d probably use truss head sheet metal screws. I’ve noticed that my hinges on the rear door show a bit of rust on the insides, the pin part. I may just replace them with piano hinges.

Hello Roamlab!

You have a sensational website, Lexi and Cowboy. I urge everyone to take a look at their work and the genius of our fellow Avionistas! https://roamlab.com/

Stop by in Southern Illinois and we'll show you around.

I have to assume that since it is so quiet here, that everyone has finished all their repairs and to do list, and they are out in the boonies somewhere enjoying their Avion and have no internet to post pictures of their travels.

Rastaman, I plan on a road trip later this month out to Colorado. I'll post a photo or two. So, how are you doing?

Colorado sounds great right now in this 98 degree, feel like 105 Florida weather....
We have been planning a trip out west, but stuff just keeps popping up...however all is good, still waiting to take the maiden trip with the C10..It all ready to go. trailer and all :-)

BTW what web site is good for posting pics, that does not require membership.

I use Photobucket, which is the outfit that out of nowhere decided to start charging $300 a year. Most of the photos that were on this site, at that time, just disappeared. A year later and they're back and charging a lot less. I don't know. Maybe nothing bad will happen again.... but we truly have less control over the net than over the Kingdom of Heaven, as you know Rasta.

Here is a shot of Hula the Wonder Dog a year or so ago as we traveled through Custer State Park in the Dakotas. She'll be on board for the Colorado excursion.
