As far a decoding the vin, I've been under the assumption that the two letters correspond to the year of manufacture. I.e a-1 b-2 c-3 and so forth. My '68 s/n is FH-211

That is the way my '68 is also but I think I remember someone with a '69 stating theirs was all numbers .

The exterior looks very good . The FH179 indicates it's a '68 , number 179 . |

79Bruiser - Beautiful. I don't know Avion's, but that seems a beaut. Anybody - Did Avion ever make a model that fit fully in the truck bed? I don't believe I've ever seen one with those characteristics. (You know - me and my perceived need for an 8 footer). Without the hangout of the back though, it would lose a lot of its look, not to mention major function placement, but it could be cute too! I mean if someone were to find one like that needing restored?) ![]() |
