Topic: Avion truck campers - Hundreds of photos

Update on Rastaman. They found a tree had fallen on one of the buildings, but no real damage below. Still no power. The Avion is unharmed, I surmise. They're back in Tampa until power can be restored in the region.

Our best to you Rastaman and here's hoping all will be well with you, your property, and to as many others as possible there and in other hard hit weather areas.

Won't make a get together this year but perhaps someday. I really want to see the cool home setting you two have created. Maybe we'll look you up even without an event if we're back through there some year. Or a reciprocal.

Hello, I just came home with what will be my winter project. A 1982 Ford E350 XLT cutaway with a 196? C-11 mounted to the back by Cayo. It has been a little neglected although with a rebuilt I6 300 engine/transmission and some suspension parts she runs well. Already ripped out a mouldy counterop and pegboard over the bed. Now to chase leaks and figure out the best options for leak sealing. It has an original AC that probably weighs 200lbs which will be a bit of a challenge to remove.

I can't find any other pics with a similar construction as the Little Ugly Bug so perhaps she was a one off....

Welcome!!
Without seeing pictures, might you possible have a Cayo Motorvator? Like this?

These were designed to be removed from an older cutaway van when the van died and fitted to a later model cutaway van. They were only made in 72/73 as far as I know. I hope that this helps, and again welcome!

Dave Pete...Thanks for the kind words, I certainly dodged a bullet. The tree fell directly on an extension ladder that I had leaning against the building,(which was crushed) that seemed to take the initial impact, and cushion the blow to the roof. The rafters were all demolished but the roof did not collapse enough and cause any damage to the equipment below, including my Dodge Dully.
And yes...you and any Avioniatas would be welcomed anytime.

Welcome C11Motorhome! Thats a beautiful machine. I think, in some ways, I wish I had one that I restored. Its far more roomy than the TC ( I think) and its retro qualities appeal to my aesthetics. I hope that you develop a good plan for your repairs/restoration.

Dave and David - I am relieved that David found his place largely intact after the hurricane passed directly through the area. I, too, would welcome Avionistas at my place here in the midwest. Lots of room, power hook ups, and a friendly frenetic Australian Shepherd named Hula to entertain.

Hello all.

New to the site and Avion campers. Bought our first one (actually 3) 3 weeks ago in Michigan. Still working on getting all the pieces and parts in one location. I'll upload a few pics shortly.

I'm trying to read this thread from the beginning, but it's alot to digest. I'll try to keep the noob questions to a minimum.

I think I have a 1969 c11. I'm not sure about the year. Maybe someone can confirm or share a site to research vin numbers? I haven't been able to turn up much.

Thanks
