I probably have a spare vent. I'd have to check to be sure, but if I do it's yours if you want it.

The edges of all the aluminum/vinyl interior wall sheets has a white vinyl J molding that covers the exposed edges. I have found similar moldings online but not exactly the same. The reason I need some more of the j molding is because I cut the main interior wall panels in the front and rear to be able to remove them without taking out every interior sheet. Additionally, The piece on the ceiling and the main ones on the walls are so big that it looked like it might be a real pain to take them off in one piece. Ticki, to get the end caps off you either have to take off all the interior panels or cut them like I did. The caps are under the ceiling and wall panels and have another inner aluminum piece that they are riveted to as well. It took me almost an hour to find this old post again , we really need a geek to index this thread . Avion C-11 ,or anyone else , where did you find the J edging for the interior panels ? General information , re: J edging for interior panels . I found this at VTS . It has a little more lip but will work . I decided not to use any edging on the new wood grain panels except where it meets the white original panels and for that I used the original edging that was where the plastic front met the aluminum . http://www.vintagetrailersupply.com/Vinyl_J_Trim_p/vts-078.htm 67 avion , it has been mentioned , ( avion c-11 ? ) , that the roof rivets were pop rivets and not buck rivets . When I did my repair I found that they were all buck rivets . Will yo tell us what you find ? Good luck with your repair , any questions give a shout . '68 Avion C-11 '02 GMC DRW D/A flatbed |

My camper has pop rivets on the main roof panel. I think my camper was also built in California instead of Michigan. I call it a C-11, but it's model plate on the back says: 9-3513SD Maybe that is why it also has different jacks. Ford F-350 4x4 Diesel 1988 Avion Triple Axle Trailer 1969 Avion C-11 Camper |

Howdy! 67 may I ask a stupid question? Why do you not just rivet a patch over those holes and call it a day? (again I think it just adds more character to a beautiful camper, and besides those little pppdings are symetrical) That's how I customized mine. That vent strainer, is that a plug? I need some of those. Just lovin on the road yall!

ticki2, nice repair job. I doubt that you would find anyone with the skill to repair it as well as you did.

I haven't been able to spend the time here (one this thread) that I have wanted to. As I do my own stick frame reno I wish I could just get all several thousand posts of this thread through assimilation, but don't guess it works that way. But, I'm going to subscribe and at least keep up on the most recent posts. Incidentally, Avions are gorgeous!

Howdy! Thanks Dave; thats what its all about! Avion campers are one of a kind. I am installing a marine electric hot water heater with heat exchanger. That way I can run off truck engine heat when rolling and I am installing a hydronic heater to also run off the water heater. I have a wave 3 but I am just too paranoid about gas fumes to use it in a confined space. If anyone is interested, I certainly can pass my experiences along. It certainly isn't stock, but is neato! |
