Next comes the kitchen sink and countertop.
The reverse osmosis system and electric instant on
water heater fit beneath, barely. Corian is being cut and
glued for the countertop, it is a wonderful work surface
and durable, but heavy; so all the extras backsplash, drip edge and
trim will be made of aluminum.[image]

OVER-THE-TOP! AM I SEEING WHAT I THINK I'M SEEING? Holy smokes, Cajun. Is that latch on the outside of the bathroom door? Talk about thinking outside the can! Please describe that bathroom and Jane's smile. Its an amazing renovation.... ;-)

I agree with 67... Absolutely over the top! But my wife asked me, why clear walls and door for the bathroom. No privacy now. ;-)

New to forum and to the Avions! I picked up a 1966 C10 today in fair condition...

The owners were selling it as they bought a fifth wheel. Something about the Avion being too small and having eight grandkids. It was up on Craigslist for a month, and luckily no one else bought it!

I did learn that it takes some redneck engineering to fit the camper on a dually. I'm going to look into a solar panel set up for it, switch the lights to LEDs and see what else I can come up with. I can't tear it down for a rebuild as the funds aren't there and it will be in full use in about a month.

Welcome aboard. We have a great panel of Avion owners who are generous with their knowledge...and opinions. Take the time to read the string...its quite long, but it doesn't cost anything and will answer a lot of questions. I note that the tie downs aren't hooked up yet. Am I right?

66C10, welcome to the forum. You won't find another forum with as much info on the C10/C-11 campers.

Thanks guys!

It will be a long read, but I've already noticed this thread is full of a lot of helpful information.

I don't have proper tie downs, yet. I'll be ordering some Torklift tie downs this week. For the trip back, I used ratchet straps attached to the frame. Luckily, it wasn't a super long trip back to the house.

66C10.

Welcome. We also have a 66, and have loved working on it. Now, we're looking for an F-350 or -450 diesel dually service truck to serve as permanent carry-vehicle for her, to make it easier to move my gunsmithing shop with us.

Enjoy the Forum, and your Avion. And never forget, we LOVE pictures here.

73's.

See y'all on the roads, or in the parks.

Welcome 66C10!

We also own a 1966 C-10. Ours is far from stock, but is well used around Alaska!

We are missing it a lot right now as we are down traveling without it... In Washington state. We are blessed to be driving our old Excursion around, visiting friends and family, and we also finally got a look at our future home site in south central Washington. Not leaving Alaska yet... But getting things ready for when we do.

Changing from Kodiak to Prosser, WA is going to be a big change! It is hot here!!!
