After a long discussion with Tall Friend, who had recently traded a very old F-250 for a 2013 F-350, WLToo chose a gorgeous low-mileage 2014 F-350 King Ranch diesel, which cost less than a new F-250 (and most of the used ones for some reason) and has lots more stuff. Its trim color actually matches the Rockwood main color. He'll build a platform to put over the back seat for the cat cages, so all should work out just fine for taking them with us on RV trips.
More importantly, now he won't be borrowing my F-150 to haul his DIY projects...and I'm just happy to not ride around in that Jeep Liberty anymore. It was way too small for my physical or mental comfort. Does make our drive look like a Ford dealership, though......
Woke up at 0415 this morning with completely clogged sinuses. I do not get this weather. No rain, but enough humidity to mess up sinuses. My neti pot is working overtime...
Leoghaire came up for a snack just before sundown. It's definitely spring already; her coat was ragged and patchy from shedding the winter gray.
Spotacus can't decide if he wants to sleep away the day in bed or on the porch glider, so he spends a little time here, a little time there, get locked in the garage, get let out and immediately run to his dry food dish, sit on his human pillow (me) -- it's just an exhausting kitty routine. He went to bed early tonight...
Yesterday and today, our favorite handyman finally got the porch column fixed, then did the stucco work around all the new doors. All that's left now is to wait for the stucco to cure, then paint. We'll keep our fingers crossed that Short Friend's 4Runner, now named Christine, doesn't launch another assault on the house. We'd like to have a period where we don't have to fix something.
Lack of sleep is catching up. Later, y'all.

Congrats on the new truck! Yep, it's strange how that whole pricing thing depends on demand.

We're out on our first trip with the Rockwood. I named it Steinholz (Rockwood in German--well, stone wood if we're going to be totally accurate). We found several serious issues to be fixed before we head off to Alaska. I do hope they're all fixed by then, as I don't want a second year of effort to be wasted because of RV issues.
The cat cages literally take up the truck's entire back seat. My original idea of letting them go in and out of the carriers, with a litter box on the floor, was completely non-doable. So when Spotacus woke up two hours into the trip and started howling, we pulled off the road and carried one cat at a time back to Steinholz and into the bathroom, where the litter box was riding. Spotacus didn't need it; he just wanted to walk around for a bit. Alex circled inside the box three times, then peed. The rest of the trip (only a three hour ride) went smoothly.
We got set up at the RV park and let the boys loose in Steinholz. They've spent a lot of time in there, while we packed, organized, and so on. But for some reason, both of them are peeing in inappropriate places. Good thing I brought a gallon of Wee Cleaner. When Short and Tall Friends come over, they can't smell anything, so it's doing its usual excellent work.
I'm meeting my college trip roomie for lunch. She lives nearby. We were always roomed together on band trips, and is one of the funniest people I know. Short Friend decided not to come along, although I really wanted the two to meet. WLToo and Tall Friend are going Gulf fishing (and I sincerely hope they don't catch anything big, 'cause there's no place to store it).
Last night, Spotacus decided my head must be cold. First he draped himself over my mouth. When I protested, he shifted to the top of my head. Ok, that was fine -- until the happy claws started kneading biscuits on my forehead. Again I protested. He shifted to in-between our pillows and all was well. Even though we argued a bit over body placement, this was a vast improvement over the last couple of nights. Spotacus had stretched almost the full length of the bed between us; yes, he is that large. Two cats and two humans in a queen bed is not terribly comfy for this human. We'll keep working on that...
Alex finds a spot and parks, either at the foot of the bed or on his sofa binky. He hasn't walked on us, demanding food, because I wake up early enough to get him fed on time. He's been clingy beyond annoying since we got here, so him being on the bed is quite a relief.
Time to go shopping for some of the things we forgot. Later, y'all.

Sounds like the boys were marking the new digs with their scent to make it their own. ![rolleyes [emoticon]](http://www.coastresorts.com/sharedcontent/cfb/images/rolleyes.gif)
Hope everything gets fixed to your satisfaction for Alaska. Happy Easter!

The trip went well, but we found a few more warranty items to be fixed. Three are major, the rest more annoying than anything else. Taking it to service next Tuesday.
But on Easter Sunday morning, I got a nice ride in an ambulance and have been in hospital since. Heart was in serious a-fib (again), and I had chest pain. So here I am, waiting for the medication the EP ordered to get into my system. Will go home Wed or Thurs. At least this hospital features all private rooms, with a "Room Service" style of dining. So far, the food's been pretty good. Asked WLToo to bring a bottle of Mrs. Dash and some hot sauce, to make up for some of the blander ones.
Short Friend has been feeding cheese and raw chicken to Alex. Interesting - when we offered him raw chicken as a regular food, he wouldn't touch it. Guess he could taste the added vitamins and minerals. Oh, well, at least he's getting more nutrients than from the cat food gravy...
WLToo said the coyotes were all around last evening, and very, very close. At one point, he saw movement on the hill across our fence, determined it was a coyote, and told Spotacus to come inside. Spotacus must have seen it, too, because he shot into the house and didn't go back out. Alex was safely inside - we just don't let him out after dark. Spotacus can go because he stays on the porch, but I do believe he'll choose to stay inside the next few nights.
We went several days without any deer corn, but Leoghaire didn't give up on us. WLToo said she walked right up to him when he brought out the dish. Such a beautiful doe.
Time to get hooked up to the IV again, so I can't use both hands to type. Later, y'all.

Oh, my! On Easter morning you got such a call! I'm glad you are still here and able to communicate with us. Do you think your ablation needs a tune-up? I heard the nurses telling all the men, "See you next year." Like maybe it's a common thing to need a re-do?
In any case, we're all happy you're still here. Feel better soon!

Judy, it's very common for folks to have a second ablation. I had two myself. Three is not uncommon, but not as often as two. This time, we're trying the medications and weight loss route first, so we don't interrupt the Alaska trip. I was already supposed to come in to get that medication; it was simply bumped up a couple weeks.
This bed keeps taking me for a ride. Not sure why it does that, but it's almost like a back massage, just not long enough.
Time to stop. Hand with IV is hurting now. Later, y'all.

Sorry to hear about your medical problems, I'm sure everything will be fine for the trip to Alaska. Regarding letting Spotacus out onto to porch. Coyotes can get very bold and aggresive. Have been reading about owners of pets losing them to coyotes who are walking them on leases or in their back yard with 6' fences. Unless you have a way for him to get into the home without someone opening a door. I would be careful with the coyotes. Get well soon.

I'm going home tomorrow, now that the meds have put me back into sinus rhythm. Good. The Benadryl only does so much to relieve the skin rash I get from all the sensor stickies they plaster all over my torso. That adhesive is just plain nasty.
Making sure I have enough of that one special med that only certain pharmacies can carry will be the next challenge for the Alaska trip. Will be chatting with my insurance company very soon about that.
Otherwise, it was a gray, misty, foggy day. I had a bit of a view, no view, a bit, started to clear, and now it's dark. I see red flashing lights out on US 281. I guess someone just had to run into someone else... Makes me very glad to live in the country.
Lost the IV, but still have the IV port in my hand, so I'll limit the typing for now. Later, y'all.
