Still cloudy and raining, much to our delight, but it is keeping the deer down in the meadow out of sight, and both cats are determined to sit on me, which slowed down my ability to finish editing WLToo's second book. But I persisted, and it's done. He has it back for whatever he does next, then I'll either read it again, or he'll prepare it for uploading to Amazon's Kindle site. It should be published by Christmas.
I need cocoa. Later, y'all.
Are you an editor for writers? Time constraints don't me to read every post so I do miss some.

We have all unbreakable ornaments on our 7' tree. This is the first year the cats have not bothered the tree or any of the decorations on it. They've settled down quite a bit now. They range in age from 18 months to 3 years - roughly. When they were kittens they wouldn't leave the tree alone. Balls everywhere, garland hanging every which way... they really partied on the tree back then.

WandaLust2, I am an editor for only one author now, WLToo. After all, I'm retired--kinda sorta...
I kinda miss the days when the cats would deliberately walk under the wind chime decorations to make them jingle, and the same painted wooden bell decoration every year would wind up in a corner somewhere, to be found about February. It's on the tree, and neither guy is showing any interest.
Spot's new game is to run around on the chair seats under the dining table. It's really funny to see, but he stops the minute he realizes we're watching, and starts to clean himself.
All the decorations and presents are in place, a candle is adding a nice evergreen scent, Alex is sleeping next to me, and Spot is on his tree, beating a toy. Nice evening.
Tomorrow, I'll pick up the smoked turkey, do some last minute grocery shopping, dust, and make more cocoa mix. Mom flies in tomorrow evening, but she's going to my sister's place. WLToo is bringing his mom here on Thursday.
We're the Christmas feast location again this year, since we have the nice view, lots of parking, and a fireplace. But we're not getting all excited and doing too much; everyone coming has to contribute to the feast. We'll just heat it up...
Bedtime. Lots to do tomorrow. Night, y'all.

Hershey was a very special cat and we still miss him terribly even after 2 yrs. We have since gotten another cat.
Gascap is a Hemingway Polydactyl cat. He has 7 toes on each foot, weighs about 12 to 15 lbs. We are not sure what breed he is besides that, lol. We think part Maine Coon.
Gascap is also a very smart and special cat. If you want to see the "dance" that goes on every day when Gascap wants a treat than you can watch this - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eJmuFHZPHjU&feature=youtu.be - That was actually the last minute of the dance that they do.

Spot broke training, and started clawing the leather bench again. Thing is, he knows not to do it, and tries to suck up to whoever yelled at him. Back to the spray bottle.
MIL is visiting, so we bumped up the thermostat. Alex is very much happier, but it's very hard on me, being the small blast furnace I am. But MIL was still cold, especially at night, so we bought her an electric blanket to use here, then take home.
I'm thinking about one for our bed, since Alex and Spot are neither one inclined toward clawing the bedclothes. WLToo can turn on his side of it and I won't have to. That does mean both the cats will join WLToo on his side of the bed...hmmm, may have to re-think this. I like having warm kitties by me.
Next few days will be lively, so I may not post much. But I'll store up the kitty stories.
Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night.

Gascap came from the shelter in Michigan with the name of Max. He never answered to it thou. Then while we were playing a war game online we met lots of people. One of the guys had the name of Gascap. Thom had a few drinks and just turned around to the cat and said "Hey Gascap" and the cat answered him and he's answered to it ever since.
As for a spray bottle, all we have to is show it and Gascap stops what he was gonna try to do, lol.

Spot and Alex both know to stop when they see the spray bottle.
It's almost Christmas. WLToo, his mom, and Spot are all asleep. Alex is laying in my lap, trying to get me to go to bed. Got the dressing and honeyed carrots cooked and in the fridge, so all we'll have to do tomorrow is make the apple cider gravy and heat up the rest. My feet hurt -- even with my MBT sneakers on.
According to NORAD, Santa has already passed through this area, so I'd best get to bed. Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night.

I tried the spray bottle. Results were...mixed. Vierna will run away and sulk, but Maya, if sprayed, will immediately rub against my ankles until I spray her again. Maya is WEIRD.
