Spotacus flatly refuses to eat a Greenie anything, so the pill pockets are out.
We have a pill syringe. The problem is it takes 2-3 people to restrain Spotacus.
Last night, I experimented with some Viralys on my finger. He licked it off both times. Today, I'll try a small bit on a spoon, and if he still licks it, then crush the pill into that. Won't know for a bit, because Spotacus tastes something thoroughly over a several day period, before he decides if he's going to continue eating it or not.
If that doesn't fly, I'm thinking our next try will be the cat bag. He likes boxes and bags, so getting him into a cat bag as a restraint might be doable.

Another option to consider is having the medication compounded. We worked with a local pharmacy that did this for us, but that isn't available everywhere. There are reputable online compounding pharmacies.
Wedgewood Pharmacy is a good one.
These medications are not cheap when compounded, but not having to fight with every dose is worth something.
BTW, notice on the page all the different flavors available.

Will the vet prescribe the Cetirizine instead? It looks like a good option, especially that bacon flavor. A shot of corticosteroid helps too, at least for our dogs and cats.
Time for bed. It's almost 2230.

Well, he decided he's not going to lick anymore Viralys. He's also not itching right now, so I guess whatever causes the reaction is not presently an issue.
Will look into the Cetirizine. If we could just sprinkle the powder on his dry food, as we do the Dasuquin, he'll probably eat it. He gets agitated if he can't see us sprinkle the Dasuquin onto his food, so if he thinks it's the Dasuquin, he should be fine. I see the powder is for horses, but surely a minute amount would work for a cat?
Came home late last night from driving Mom around town. As I drove up the driveway, six deer walked from the water trough past the house and down the slope. They all looked pretty good, considering the last of fresh growing things.
Time to get ready to work my shift at the library. Later, y'all.

Deer are coming out around our place too. Saw a herd of 14 last week. Do you ever get the feeling that cats have us trained.

There was a comic strip panel someone posted years ago at work. It showed cats walking on their hind legs, leading humans on all fours on leash. One cat says to another, "It was easy, they never saw it coming." I have never been able to find a copy of that comic strip online, but I often think about it when I see cats.

Leoghaire came up yesterday to the porch, making it crystal clear that she though we should be feeding her. So I fed her and her baby a few tomatoes, then we headed to the feed store for some corn.
Then we found Mama Doe Lassie's dog dish and dumped some corn in it. Leoghaire didn't show up until this morning. Meanwhile yesterday afternoon, two magnificent 8 point bucks decided to hang out on our driveway, staring at us while WLToo took lots of photos (that he hasn't shared with me yet). Leoghaire herself is looking pretty good.

While Leoghaire was eating, the weather was being interesting. The rain clouds were flying by, dipping down to the lake, then blowing away. I got one or two photos, which do not even begin to show how neat it looked, but here's one.

Do you suppose they were trying to form a funnel?
Nice photos btw. I've been meaning to ask if you pronounce "Leoghaire" as "Lair-a" like Dun Laoghaire" outside of Dublin?

No funnels, it's just an interesting rain formation, common around here.
Leoghaire is pronounced Leery in Scots Gaelic. Comes from Diana Gabaldon's Outlander books and the TV series, plus the way she's always acted around us: bold but leery. Her fawn of last year is still hanging with her, but is even more skittish than Leoghaire. We haven't named her yet. Might not, if she doesn't interact with us.
Beautiful day today. I sat on the north porch and read a book, while enjoying the sailboats on the lake. Tall Friend and WLToo went to CW for a new toilet. Seems one of the toilets in their FW decided to not work properly, and the only way to fix it was with a totally new toilet. But all is fine now.
The water heater in our hall bath is on the fritz, so the plumbers will be here tomorrow or Tuesday. They're still cleaning up the backlog from all the frozen pipes a couple weeks ago. Then the pool guy will be here later this week to drain the pool and put in a pressure tester, to find the leak. Then next week, he'll fix the leak and replaster the pool. Looking forward to swimming again - probably in April.
Goodness, it's hot in here tonight. Time to turn the heater off. Later, y'all.

Water heaters, pools and toilets... what next or maybe it's bad luck to even say that? Did Spotacus help install the new toilet or did he do the usual supervision?
Leery - I can see that. Don't know the books you're talking about but that doesn't mean anything other than they sound like "kissing books". They don't sound like Guy-Books. You know the kind. Secret assassination plots, all out battles and ammo explosions. Or high speed chases. Or war history.
