I also have a 2 door Yaris hatchback, a 2010 auto. The manual says not to tow. I'm thinking youmust have the manual & that is OK. My Class B Xplorer gets 13.5 mpg & I just drive it around. The Yaris is my home base & winter vehicle. I do like it, got a great deal on it & like the mpg. The best I got was 40mpg, but avg in town is 32.5.

Hi Steve.

That is correct. I have the stick shift. I'm pleased at how easy it is to hook up for towing. I like the Yaris very much. It has 16,000 miles on it. It's a mint - in great condition. The previous owner is selling his large class A with the Yaris. He's having difficulty selling the rig so he made an offer to me to buy the Yaris separately. I got a deal I couldn't refuse - and, I got the tow bar, etc as part of the deal.

Our RT gets about the same as you - 13.5. Not bad for RV's but we wanted to keep the RT as a home base for our Beagle when we leave for short day trips to sightseeing activities.

I got 37 combined MPG on the last fill up. So, I can't complain. It's a great car for us retired folks driving around town. [emoticon]

So, to keep this on topic, now that I have done so, I will continue to practice hooking up the Yaris to our Class B once or twice twice a week for a while before hitting the road.

Joe

DGF and I took the Class B to my sister's 50th birthday party last Saturday. (60 mile trip)

Our first time sleeping in a Class B after having a C. We were very impressed with the sleeping quarters. There was enough room for me to be comfortable as I am 6ft. tall. My sister appreciated us sleeping in the Class B. That was one less thing to worry about in her house as other people stayed over.

Also, My mother is visiting me from out of town and we went shopping in the B today. It is a lot more comfortable for her than being in my truck. It has gotten a lot of exercise the past few days!

We finally have had two days with sun and no rain. I looked out the window at my PW and vowed that by May 27, I will have it cleaned, loaded and ready to go--somewhere, anywhere even if the rains have returned! It has been too long since we have used our beloved PW.

I turned our RT to face the street (downhill) and moved it over in front of the garage, backed up to be under the overhang with the rear doors open and proceeded to start loading. Whoopee!!! Where do we put this, and that? Are you sure we took those last time? They won't fit in here! We will have it all sorted out by June, I hope! Practice run is end of this month, then it is for real! Newfoundland here we come!

Just got back from two night trip to watch granddaugher in track meet, have the last one this year next week. Saw quite a few B's on the road and camped but overall not many big rigs.

A friend of mine called me up yesterday and said he and his wife are having people over for a covered dish party. Their party's tend to be a bit wild so I asked if I could bring my Class B to stay over night as they have a lot of land. They had no problem with that and even let me plug into their pole barn electric outlet. I did not use the air cond. A great time was had by all and I even got invited over to someone's elses farm for a big Memorial get together of RV's.

Total price of last night and next weekend...... ZERO!
It is nice having RV friends who live out in the country.

The pretty pink curtains in our '99 Roadtrek 190P are great for privacy, but do nothing to stop incoming light. In order to sleep past daybreak, I removed the curtains and had a professional seamstress sew in light-blocking fabric on the outside of the curtains. Now the interior of the van is quite dark, and an added benefit was it helped to insulate the van a little more as well.

The curtains are a little stiff, but they still slide up and down and side to side just fine.

Have a great Memorial Day Weekend, everyone!

Just checked the tire pressure and loaded up. Heading over the Cascades to Central Oregon to watch granddaughter in track meet. Looks like we may travel through some snow showers on the way.
