We should be off and on a trip but I could not get any reservations at a campground for the weekend - so instead I got a sunshade for the windshield and put that in today to make sure it fits and I installed a rubber gasket on the bottom of the shower drain plate in the floor of my Roadtrek to quiet that down as it bounces while we drive. Too little too do - so much time... Roadtrek 190 Popular 2011 Meryl and Me Hit the Road |

During my sofa bed modification, I took out the TV. And then we decided that we didn't need it (heresy?), so I then removed the DVD player. Today I delved into the Winegard Antenna manual, which showed me what I needed to know - and removed the antenna. Interestingly, the gear shaft was bent and the 3 washers that were supposed to be on the shaft were missing. The plastic plate that was screwed into the ceiling inside was cracked and fell apart as it was unscrewed. The metal plate on the roof was not taken off, so I had to come up with a seal for the shaft hole. One of those little caps that come on the ends of in line potable water filters, the rigid blue platic type not the soft white type, fit the the inside of the hole. I then took a 4 litre jug cap and fitted it over the outside. Pulled the two off and filled them with sealant and put them on again. Inside the RT, I rolled up a 2 inch wide strip of packing foam and twisted it into the shaft hole. Since the plastic plate was broken, I covered a piece of cardboard with duct tape and cut a circle the size of the broken plate. Then I screwed the circle to the ceiling using the original screws and holes. Only one downside, I had to cut the antenna cable, because there was no way to get the cable through the holes of the antenna leg without taking the connector fastening off. I will worry about that if I re-install the antenna. Less weight, less drag, more room!!! Excercised the external generator (see signature above) against the 7100 BTU roof top air conditioner. Also, gave the Class B a good vacuum.

I sanitized the water system and exercised the genny today. Yesterday, we took our RT to the Cape Cod Canal, got out the gas grill and had a barbecue. All systems are all up and running smoothly. ![]() 2015 Class B Roadtrek Zion |

I cleaned the stove top and wiped the insides out I'm still waiting for better weather-its going to snow in the mountains above me tonight ( I'm at 6500 ft ) most of the local campgrounds still have lots of snow and the rivers are flooding but I can still drive it around and park in the local parks for a picnic or park in my backyard

Have given up on summer. Moved the PW to front driveway; cleaned inside while DH does outside. Now, I am slowing stocking it with food. After church tomorrow, we are off--don't know where, but will head north/northwest. Am enticing DH with the promise of a fantastic bakery I read about this week in the newspaper.mmmmm

I exercised the genny, washed the rig, went back in the house as by then (10am) it was 95 outside and climbed later to 105. Hard to get excited about travel.

I aint gonna argue about whether I got a class B or C.. Its a 1984 Chevy Camper van, Champion, transtar, has stove, sink, refrigerator Hotwater heater, toilet, shower, etc.. I got it cheap, and have put close to 1000 into it already, and still have problems,, I got mad and was gonna sell it, but then dove back into fixing things,, finally, things are coming together.. Nana started pulling contact paper off the bathroom walls,, then I came up with the idea of putting linoleum up with liquid nails, and caulking the corners, adding some composite trim, and it isnt looking bad, will finish it up tomorrow. Got the a/c working, blower was froze up, so shot it up with some wd 40 and it is working/cooling nicely.. Tore the headliner down from the ceiling, after getting tired of seeing it hanging, so primered and painted it, then put trim on the cabinets to cover up our big brush mistakes. lol Installed a new Aqua magic v toilet, but one of the bolts came through, and its a bit wobbly,so have to remove it again. replaced air filter on the generator Got my wiring problems straightened out mostly, still some that someone else is going to have to fix.. drained fresh water tank (had added bleach to it, drained, filled back up, drained, now has white vinegar in the whole system, will drive it around the block and let it slosh around some, then drain again a couple more times,, Gas guage doesnt work, fixed the ground wire on it, but still doesnt work so someone else will have to see about it, along with the thermostat guage. and the dreaded tire issue,. 8x16.5 tires.. and too chicken to go to tire place to hear what the damages will be.. Im probably putting more money into it than it will be worth, but if it can get me to where Im going and back for a couple years or so, I will be happy, (I think),, just aint gonna pay the prices they want for some of these rigs..If I can make this one comfortable, quiet, and everything working, I still think I may get my money back out of it. The engine is great, the generator is great, still havent tried the hot water heater (or any of the LP) Refrigerator doesnt work on ac or dc, but may be level problem. anyways,, thats what Ive been up to for the last several days,, The class A deal fell through when the bank turned me down,, credit score of 816 and they wouldnt cough up some money. Even when using my house. So there must be something else going with the economy, I reckon. Yall have a great week, I have 10 days to get it ready for july 4th weekend camping trip.. I have stoves, coolers, and dutch ovens, lol,, I dont need all that stuff to work "right now" just make it livable. Papaw |

guess I should have said, white vinegar and water in the whole system. lol,,I couldnt afford that much white vinegar.. lol oh yeah, think my dump tank is full, so have to find one close to dump it.. and not wanting to sound stupid, but I will ask anyways,, is there a "gray water" tank? I thought I found it, but cant find the drain.. or does the sink and shower drain water go into the black tank? I found two hoses under the camper, that I think are gray water drains, and found two things but cant figure out how to open them to drain it. theyre just little round "valves" I think, never seen this type of valve before.. had like keyrings going through them,, Ive turned, tugged, pulled, pushed, etc,, and cant figure them out,, any help would be appreciated..thanks Papaw |
