Garysol, what type of cargo/bike mount do you have on the rear of your trailer and what type of weight can you put on it?

Thanks,
Ben

I dont know anything about the faring braces but when I noticed when I drive my wheel well flutters. I looked underneath ( lot easier with slide out) and I have a metal S type brace that snapped.

That is the one... "S" style that only has one bolt at the top and one at the bottom. We have about 700 miles on the trailer and it has broken twice.. Won't again..

I hope to get'er done tonight.

stay tuned.

Hi Ben,
I use a Hitch Haul brand rack on the back of the trailer with a bolt on Receiver. I would be nervous carrying more than maybe 50 pounds on it. I am just not sure how strong the bumper on these things are. We carry most of our bikes up on the back of the truck.

On our Premier, concerning the blinds by the sink, I just notched one slat by the knob , problem solved !!! We are usually weekend campers, but we each shower twice, along with the usual water usage, have never had a water situation !!

After I had the issue with my 30A internal C/B tripping this weekend I thought about my generator. It is a 6800 running watt, 8550 starting watt unit. I went to the storage lot and hooked up to my 20A output and turned on my A/C, both fridges (outside set to 7 again in inside set to a little above halfway again), turned on both tv's, the radio, all my lights, plugged in my party lights, and ran a fan and was still only @ 55% output on my generator. And that was on a 20A circuit! So, now my question is, would a weak shore hook up cause my INTERNAL 30A C/B to trip? If not then why would it trip a 30A 110V shore power and not my 110V 20A generator? The only thing that was not on today that was on this weekend was the hot water heater. However, even with that I dont see it drawing 45% more of my generator's power. Anyone smart on TT wiring please feel free to chime in.

Silly "S" style fairing brace. So, we've gone through two fairing braces under the slide (the one between the wheels) because of the soft aluminum. I came up with this idea.....

I mounted a shelf bracket on the fairing but helped support it with a piece of furnace ducting I had laying around and some aluminum angle iron. The only extra screws in the fairing are on the bottom flange of where the original one is. The shelf bracket attaches to the SLIDE and 'floats' about 2" from the bottom of the floor.
On the trailer, I bent a piece of sheet metal to make a 'receiver' which is on an angle to help guide the bracket UP towards the floor when the slide is on it's way in. I then screwed a little plastic wheel for additional support at the end of the bracket so it is not tight, but snug.
The 'receiver' keeps the bracket from moving down and the wheel keeps it from moving up so the fairing itself only moves back/forth maybe 1/2" now instead of 2" it used to... First trip this weekend, will advise on outcome.

Slide side (it ain't pretty but not visible unless your laying under the trailer):

Thanks... My first thought was a cone mounted on the fairing and a round pipe bracket mounted on the trailer... Which would work as well...

That does look very sturdy.

I discovered that the fairing brace had snapped about half way through our month long road trip last year. So I was looking for a quick fix. What I did was buy some plumbing strap and used JB Weld to support the brace. A couple of thousand miles later and it's still holding up:
