AMPS!
So I guess it's really only 25 amps if I dare to use it all at the same time, but with summer coming and air conditioner use I wanted to try to understand this more and not blow breakers left and right! I'm not going to overkill this topic but want to learn what appliances use how much amps in my specific Bullet TT and be prepared. Guess I'll start a list of the appliances I use and test for how many amps they use. Happy Camping!

One thing that happened to me this weekend was when I had the A/C on, the outdoor fridge set to 7, the indoor fridge set a little above half way, the hot water heater on electric, a fan plugged in, and outdoor party lights plugged in, my 30 Amps internal C/B tripped. The result of that was a frozen A/C condenser unit, and two fridges turned down to norm level, but man was it hot. After about an hour of defrosting the condenser the A/C worked just fine and we were rocking and rolling again.

Ok guys, been away from the computer but its great to hear about everyone's trip. My first one is 2 days away. Here are some questions maybe you can answer for me. Quite nervous- Some may seem stupid but remember I've never camped before!

1) After leveling the trailer and putting down the stabilizers, is the Bullet very bouncy? I've been reading about Steadyfast in case it is.

2) That stinks how quickly the gray tanks filled up. Teen age daughter and wife = many a full gray tank for me!

3) Can someone explain to me the proper method of turning on the water pump, and getting things ready to have hot water.

3) Does everyone run their AC 24/7? Its about 90 degrees here in NJ.

4) Give me a brief over view of the AUTO button and when that should be on.

5) Did anyone cook pancakes on the burner on the outside kitchen? Curious if it gets hot enough to accomplish this.

6) Thanks! If anyone has ample time, a review of a setup list when they get to the camp site sure would help. I'm more concerned with the internal stuff in the camper. Was Rainbows experience normal to trip the CB?

I forgot about those stupid faring braces [emoticon] It is a massive pain to use my BAL chocks. I will have to fashion my own braces I think that will clear my scissor type chocks better.

Yeah, I'm not too worried about the door side as much as the slide side. Under the slide, the fairing bracket is basically just a bent piece of aluminum that snaps after a few miles in the wind (twice now). Because it is under the slide the brace can't be connected to the frame and essentially is only held in place UP/Down but doesn't stop anything from moving side/side.. I'm not quite done yet but I will send pics when the rain stops and the mod is done.

I'm anxious to see what you do for this brace, mine has came loose twice as well, I added another screw in the very bottom of the fairing into the brace after i bent it to where it makes more sense to me, it hasn't happened since then, but still don't like the way it is attached.

I dont know anything about the faring braces but when I noticed when I drive my wheel well flutters. I looked underneath ( lot easier with slide out) and I have a metal S type brace that snapped.

1. Any trailer that is as long as many of our Bullets are will have some bounce. Nature of the beast. If it bothers you then you can simply carry 2 manual jack stands with you when you are all done leveling and putting out the 4 stab jacks simply take your 2 manual jacks and put them some where near the middle of the trailer to help stabilize. Make sure the trailers frame is sitting on the jack. Walmart carries these jacks.

2. Hopefully a bathhouse will be near.

3. If there is no water at your camp site.....
A. Fill your fresh water tank.
B. When you get to the campground simply turn on the pump switch. It will be noisy for a few seconds while the pump fills the hot water heater and all of the lines.
C. If you need hot water fast turn on the gas switch on your water heater panel. After the water is hot turn off the gas switch and use electric to maintain it. Make sure both switches are off before you leave camp.

4. Auto button on the fridge? As far as I am concerned that button will always be on auto. It will make the fridge look for A/C electric power first and if none is present it will then go to propane. Maybe the only time I would not use auto would be if I knew that that the 30amp at my site was weak and had trouble starting the A/C then maybe then I would lessen the electrical load by using gas only.

5. I made oatmeal and it was plenty hot. NOTE: There as a little valve that you must open on the quick disconnect for the stove.

6.

Ok so we just got back and I am pleased to report that the plexi=glass over the outside tv worked like a champ. We were even able to leave the kitchen open all night, every night while we were out! Not too bad for a $25.00 modification! We had a total of 8 in the camper and we all had room to spare. All in all, not a bad weekend.

I came across a door company that give me a flat piece of metal with brushes on it. Dont know what it is called but it is used to seal gaps around sliding doors. I cut them down to size and installed them around my tv in the bunk house. Now I can still turn the tv outside and the brushes cover 95% of the gap.

We used four jacks as they came in the pack that way. Really helped, NOT a cure. Put as close to axle as you can.

2) That stinks how quickly the gray tanks filled up. Teen age daughter and wife = many a full gray tank for me!

Check with campground about letting gray water leak to the ground. Most people don't realize how many parks allow this. I won't even go into the right or wrong but its an option. This will take the pressure off your GRAY tank. It can be such a low leak that over night you won't even see a build up on the ground. We use the sewer cap with garden hose adapter when we can.

3) Can someone explain to me the proper method of turning on the water pump, and getting things ready to have hot water. Ditto what others said.

3) Does everyone run their AC 24/7? Its about 90 degrees here in NJ.

Yes but might be good idea to keep the thermostat up and add a fan if its really hot outside.

4) Give me a brief over view of the AUTO button and when that should be on. Ditto what others said.

An example of approx. amps used are: Air conditioner - 13-15, water heater - 10, coffee maker - 7, microwave - 10, fan - 1, refrigerator - 3-4. These approx. are out of Keystone site. You can see how this adds up and over 25 amps quickly. People suggest that while using items to turn air conditioner off for just a few minutes and use a fan. This conserves lots of amps to use elsewhere.

Hope your weekend trip goes well, take pics!

Thanks everyone. The amp listing was helpful. Fortunately we don't drink coffee so thats one less appliance. But I guess I have to look up what a PS3 will use and the two supplied LCD's.

I've read 4 amps but perhaps a handy dandy item to have is the Kill-A-Watt meter.

Example

Wattage % Volts = Amps
Amps X Volts = Wattage

Use this with all the items you use and make a personal list, hair dryers, curling irons, recharging batteries!
