They had a truck by-pass, I guess they were trying to keep the streets clear for local traffic.
We quickly decided to continue to Alexandria, LA where we could head south on US-165 to Lake Charles.

We passed thru lots of mega farms, crossed a lot of water....didn't see any people.

By the time we got into alexandria we were hungry.. we hadn't seen a resturant since Natchez.... and the ones that interested us in Natchez didn't interest us. We stopped along the road and had a snack and took our meds...
A place looked interesting along US-165 in Alexandria..
They had intertainment too.

They were setting up for a wedding party later that day.... we looked at the artwork on the walls.... and ate in the main part of the resturant....

After an early dinner we headed south....
We knew that the day was about complete when we saw the I-10 bridge that crosses Lake Charles... the lake that is... the bridge with the crossed muskets in the handrails.
... home for the night was just a mile away.
