This is an area that we know absolutely nothing about.... time to get our bearings... lock for opportunities.
We know that the south part of the island has the Coast Gaurd station and a campground... they are very close to the bridge we just crossed. We are going to follow the road north into the area where there isn't any commercial development

The usual beach front shops apear to be on a parallel road.... a quick look won't hurt.... maybe.

Since we are heading north.... the sea wall of sand dunes is on our right (dunes on the left seperate us from the Laguna Madre... Intercoastal waterway... a very wide body of water in its self.

The last Hurricanes mess hasn't really be cleaned up.... deep sand is moved off the road for about 6miles.... then the road is just closed off.
