I know this is a boondocking thread, but these are the only two times we have stayed in a campground.

This was the KOA in Fillmore UT. It was late Sept and the campground was pretty much empty. We stayed here for 4 nights and rode the north portion of the Paiute ATV Trail.

From there we met friends at Ferron Reservoir and spent another 6 days and 5 nights boondocking and riding the Arapeen ATV Trail. It was a great trip.

This was the second time, Winkelmans in Marysvale UT. That's winstocks MH next to our little TT and Jeffe (forum members from Texas) next to wimstock, GREAT GREAT folks.[emoticon]

We are going to stay in another campground this year, Ruby's Inn at Bryce Canyon so we can ride the Paunsaugunt ATV Trails.

I guess 3 in 4 years isn't too bad.[emoticon]

Rubiranch,

You mentioned plans about staying at Ruby's Inn CG in Utah, well we stayed there back in 1993. Loved the CG...and it was so HEAVLY wooded. Look at two photos of our campsite there below:

Across the street from the CG is a 'mock' western town. Full of fun stuff for the kids and adults to enjoy. The girls are having fun pretending they are traveling on the Oregon Trail in a covered wagon.

Hope you have a nice time at this CG...we loved it!

HAPPY CAMPING!!

Thanks for the pictures, we have never been there but are looking forward to it.

We plan on staying "in town" for one day to visit the shops and take a helicopter tour of Bryce Canyon.

Looks like a really nice place.[emoticon]

Hey Rubirance,
We too stayed at Ruby's Inn several years ago and the sites were wooded. Try to get a spot in the back as opposed to the side. The back ones are more primitive, but with the hookups.

We took the last row with full hookups, we took all 8 sites. I need full hookups because we don't have a gray tank abd we took the site closest to Lake Minnie (#126).[emoticon] I hope it's a nice one.

Glad you enjoyed the photos. As stated by previous post, the back sites are the best. We were way back and far from the main road and our site (as you can tell in the photos) was surrounded by trees. We had elec/water hookups and the sites are really far apart. At least at that time, which it made it very private.

Also, not sure if this policy still holds as it did when we went yearrrrrrs ago, but CG guest are allowed to use the pool at the hotel...located near the CG. Our girls really enjoyed swimming each day after we got back from touring the NP parks.

Hope you have a great time...and the helicopter ride will be so much fun! Post some photos on this forum...I would love to see them.
