Rubiranch! I am laughing!! You must be the guy that I always have seen up American Fork Canyon...and wonder how in the heck he got past those rocks with his rig on the way up!! I was just a mere mortal on my ATV!!!
HAVE ABSOLUTLEY LOVED THIS THREAD!!! Thanks to one and all for sharing (especially those of you who know how to post pics!!!)

Funny you should ask...I went to the rangers station in the Wayne NF in southeastern Ohio today (It's very close to my home. I asked about Dispersed camping and their advice was to just explore and see what you can find. They told me about some horse trails that had some developed areas at the beginning of the trails (trailheads?) I drove out to them and found a WONDERFUL spot to camp. It had a pit toilet that looked brand new(IE clean) a nice sized meadow, some stands of pine trees with spaces in between to fit my pup, picnic tables, and fire rings. I am so happy that I can do some boondocking as soon as the weather warms up.
Treehugger: If you want to know more, and you are near the southeastern Ohio area, private message me and I will give you further details how to find it.
I went back to the spot I found and took some photo's and I thought id share with you guys.

That looks like Soapstone Basin in the Uintah Mountains, very nice spot.

Two pics from a favorite boondocking spot about one hour from the house. It is on Mexico Hwy 85 at Linares turning right to Galeana. The first pic is getting there:

This is the site just off the highway. It is well-hidden and we have only been visited twice. Once a family came to stop for a lunch break and the second time the Policia Rural stopped to see if all was okay. Cows pass by occasionally but that is about it.

I don't remember the exact location. My notes just say on a dirt road 1/2 hour drive from pavement and somewhere south of Miller Flat Reservoir.

I wasn't even close. You were down south in the Manti LaSal Nat Forest.

Since everyone is posting West Coast pictures I thought I'd post a Mid-West image

If you look close you can see the camper nestled in the woods on the edge of this lake. This was up in the Western side of Michigan's Upper Peninsula near Bond Falls. We had the whole place to ourselves with a nice Indian Summer and a full moon.
Lets just say it's one of those campgrounds I'll hold dear to my heart for a long time!
