Please help with issue!
I have a peculiar issue that I will outline here. I recently traded in my 2007 FS2500 with Giant RV. It was a long distance trade as I am in Washington State and had my trailer shipped to them and the new one shipped to me. Long story short, they called today and said that I have misrepresented my trade because I have frame damage which has caused the wheels to tear away the wheel boxes and the floor to become buckled. I had no idea of this condition before the trade and would have definitely gotten it fixed under the recall if I had. Who can I talk with at WW or email to start getting this resolved? It worries me when Giant RV starts talking about bringing legal issues up and says that I should talk with their lawyer (which probably is not a good idea.) Can anyone help me out?
Thanks!
Chris

This is a good one... sounds like the fix is the same thing that happened to mine. However, if in fact that during the trip to cali that this happened then it is legit that a dealer would not want to accept this trade. The good news is that the trailer is in cali already and WW can pick it up from giant for the repairs. The bad news is that they may not want to accept the trade after the repair (much like how i dont want mine because it has been damaged).

Get a hold of Max or Donald at WW to find out what you need to do.

very unfortunate BUT, why would you want to trade it in when you can get more selling it on the street? they dont give very much on a trade in.

The thing about it, though, they have already paid off my trailer and I have already been making payments on the new trailer so I can't imagine them just being able to say - oh well we don't want it. It's been over a month since they had it and are now just telling me this. They say I misrepresented my trade but I had no idea of the problems they are talking about. Other than some cosmetic issues on the interior I thought the trailer was in good shape.
With that being said, I wouldn't think that weekend warrior could fight a claim to get it repaired especially since the class action was approved. It should just be a matter of sending it over to WW and having them do their thing. Do you have any contact info on the 2 gentleman you said to contact? An email address would be best so that I could explain the entire situation more easily.
Thanks!
Chris

Chris sorry to hear about the problems you've run into. I do agree that having it a month already is in your favor. If it's paid off and the title transferred it would seem like they own in. Do you already have the new one?

Seems to me if they have it and the title is transferred they should be the ones calling WW - besides as a dealer they will get quicker response. If you are going to do it though I'd make the phone call, then follow up with a letter. Email is fine and dandy but it doesn't carry the same weight as a call and letter.

I've had the new one for a month now too. Basically Giant's driver picked up mine and dropped theirs off. Is their a specific person I should talk to and write a letter to when I call/write WW? Legally, I can't see how they could preclude the fact that the damage was done during the drive down there when it was already in their posession. Like I have already said, though, WW should be willing to fix this with no issues. (I hope)

they will fix it. but, like y-guy said. if title has changed then what problem is it of yours?

just call the 800-500-9914 and get someone in service. tell them the situation and they might tell you to have giant rv call since it is in their hands

I am no lawyer but I did sign some form stating the damage and I did not include this in the form, but I had no idea about it and that is what they are trying to say that the trade in is invalid becuase I "lied" on the form. I think they would be wasting alot of money by going after me with a lawsuit than just getting the thing fixed by WW and being done with it. I'm sure that if it did get legal I have a lot of advantages with how long it's been and also with the fact that one of their guys drove the trailer down to CA.

As far as big companies being in better shape in this economy, 2 words - Bear Stearns (I know I know - sub-prime bust killed BS - remember housing also fueled a lot of RV purchase as well!)

I don't know how chapter 13 would affect any warranty claims, but I think Vspec's experience would probably become more common.

I spoke with Mark yesterday about all the rumors regarding a BK filing. He stated to me, Weekend Warrior MFG is NOT going to file. Straight from the CEO himself. I'm sure it won't be an easy road to travel, but I have confidence that Mark and WW will pull out of this in a positive light.

That is good news I would not like to see anyone have to file BK. Has anyone checked out the ( Road Warrior) I have only seen pics would like to check one out...

We have had our RWT for about a month. Two trips out and we are very impressed. They did it right with this unit. We went from a FTL to this and were concerned about the storage space. Now that its filled up, we have room left over. A 12' garage would have been nice, but the 7k tow capacity makes up for it.

This is our third WW, WW and Giant have always treated us great. We had a problem with the slide motor when we first go the RWT home. Had a mobile guy out. Parts were shipped from WW and it was fixed in less than a week.

I wouldn't loose one second of sleep over it. Remember who usually comes up on the short end with a trade in. Yep, you, the guy who traded it in. No doubt they left plenty of room to make some money on its resale and can afford to make the repairs. It sounds like Giant RV never heard of "Buyer Beware"?? Think about it, if you missed a non-warranty item in a Pre Delivery Inspection, do you think Giant RV would make good on it? I doubt it.

I have an 07 FS2500 that I have used about 7 times. Back in March I was checking it out before a 5 day weekend at Hollister and found that the frame was bent between the rear axels on passenger side. The axels were pushed over about 2-3"s therefore causing the tire to wear on the inner wheel well when loaded. One of the tires was worn comppletely smooth in the inside. Long story short, I took many pics and sent to Giant RV in Montclaire as well as WW. This was on Sunday, Monday morning I recieved a call from Giant in shock from the pics I had sent that call was followed in short order by a call from WW. WW sent a driver to my house on Wed and picked up the Trailer in Santa Rosa and 4 weeks later I received it back with a totally upgraded or new frame as well as new sink, new range, roof sag fixed, new refrig wall, floor all repaired and painted, new carpet, new tires. So basically my trailer is like new again and I am completely happy. They really stepped up to the plate for me and for that my hat is off to them. They kept saying that they would take care of everything and they did.

holy cow... this is the EXACT same thing i am going through.... they picked it up three weeks ago and called me friday ans said it was done and they are going to deliver the coach today or tomorrow.... damn. that was fast... he also stated the same thing... new frame, axles, all undercarriage, etc. the list went on. I hope mine looks like new again.

holy cow again...... Same here, new frame with outriggers, 4 inches taller, so I can go with the 16 inch wheels. They also did all kinds of minor interior appearance improvements and even cleaned the outside and made my bed! It was a one week turn around.

Dear Dominic,

I want to thank you and your crew for doing such an excellent job in repairing our 5th wheel. I was very impressed with the quality of work that was done on the frame welding as well as the all the other repairs that were done.

This is the second Weekend Warrior we have owned and we remain loyal customers. Again, many thanks for the prompt and courteous service provided by you and your company.

Respectfully,

Howard Waage

HOLY COW AGAIN..... Well I have a 2007 WW FS2500 I have had for 2 years and just noticed mine bending. Wheel well pulling away from wall and floor and wall panel next to Fridge bulging. I am supposed to take my trailer back to the dealer so they can contact WW about a fix. my dealer does not seem to know what the problem is by me telling them. I would much rather talk to WW direct about this and not hope my dealer handles it properly and fixes it properly.
