So this is what I now understand. The front axle is 3152, rear 3683. Max tawr is 7000. Max per each axle is 3950. The hitch weight is 1035, dry load is 7420, cargo max 3420. The total for truck and trailer I weighted was 14160. Hope this clarifies things.

Just FYI
Steer Axle, front wheels the ones that steer the truck
Drive axle, back wheels the ones that make it move
Trailer axles, weight on trailer axles, 1, 2, or 3.
Hitch weight: Difference between the Drive axle weight when truck is weighed unhitched and hitched up to trailer.
GCVWR: The whole banana...

Yup what he said!!!

Not sure I have posted my weights on here yet of my new truck and trailer. I now have a 2007 F550 and a 2012 Raptor 4014 LEV 5th wheel toy hauler. I took the set up to the scales to get a "dry" weight. The truck was low on fuel and empty, the trailer was relitively empty as in, No toys, no gear, no food, no water, no fuel, no cloths. The only thing in the trailer was linen, dishes and whatever else the wife keeps in those cabinets and drawers. Here are the numbers I got without me in the truck.

Axle 1 Steer: 5240 lbs
Axle 2 Drive: 7820 lbs
Axle 3 Trailer: 12680 lbs (4227 lbs per axle)
Total weight : 25740 lbs

I called the manufacturer of my soon to be delivered fifth wheel and was surprised to find out they keep a weight record of every trailer as-built. My dry axle brochure weight is 8853 vs 8930 actual. Dry pin brochure weight is 2023 vs 2320 actual. Does not include, of course, batteries and propane fuel. The difference is mostly due to the 5.5K generator. I will weigh everything when I get it. Last time I weighed my TV with three adults and 1/2 tank of fuel, it weighed 3400 steer and 4600 drive (scale readout is in 50# increments).

Dry pin weight 25.9% of dry actual weight at the factory? Ouch. Can you truck handle that large a share of the trailers listed GVWR? Don't know whether you have 2500 or 3500. Don't know of a 3/4 ton than can handle even 2320 pin weight.

Yes, ouch! I do have air bags and HD shocks, but I'm thinking I may have to remove the generator since it adds 300# that I'm not really sure I have to carry. Or load the trailer really rear heavy....

Depending on which model of 3/4 ton GMC you have, the best possible tow rating is 12,000 pounds from what I've read. The trailer's Gross Dry Weight is 10876 lbs. and the Gross Vehicle Weight(GVWR)is 15700 lbs. I suspect you're going to not only overload the truck's rear axle, you'll be towing too much trailer weight for that truck. Recommend you read Before You Buy That RV, Truck or Other Tow Vehicle.

for those that might be interested:

2013 Ford F-350 Platinum, 6.7 diesel crew cab shortbed single rear wheel with 11,500 gvwr with superglide 18k hitch, ford's truxport roll up bed cover, factory toughbed sprayed bed liner, pkg 618A, moonroof, wheel well liners...
(all listed to give you an idea of options weight)

cat scales with full 26 gal tank, me. the wife, and the dog:
steer 5040
drive 3660
total 8700 - a fat one [emoticon]

will be adding a rear sway bar today so that should be a bit more...

so that leaves me 11500 - 8700 = 2800 carrying capacity..

on edit:
Now I need to weigh truck and rv together to see if it is > the 23500 gcwr...
or steer axle weight is > FAWR of > 6290
or drive axle weight is > RAWR of > 7180 (7180-3660=3520 if all on backend[emoticon])
or total of steer axle + drive axle from scales with rv attached is > 11500 ...

You probably won't even add 100# to your front axle loaded. With 4,500# pin weight of that only 100# goes to my front axle. I have my B&W hitch full forward.

Why do you need sway bars? Are you going to haul a slide in camper?

So I finally went the the cat scales for the second time [emoticon]. I am going to get this right.

Truck
Steer: 3340
Drive: 2450
Total: 5880

Truck with Trailer
Steer: 3480
Drive: 3680
Trailer axle: 7360
Total grows weight: 14480

I drive a 2011 5.3l crew cab short bed z71 3.42 Chevy with trailering package. I am just right under the 15000 mark. This is however without any water in the tank. Tanks are dry. Let me know what you think. I am planning to go to Colorado. Do you think the truck will pull it up okay?

Rather than offering my opinion, what did the Weight Safety Report (Step 4) at Fifth Wheel St. tell you?
