Thanks for the information. We have the 10k Equalizer. I am finding them from 150.00 to 220.00 for the 2.5" version.

Did you get a 2" and plan on using the adapter the truck came with? I was looking for the 2.5" so I don't have to use the adapter since the Class V is 2.5"

Yes, I use the adapter. I towed it about 2,000 miles with the new truck and the old hitch and just let it sit nose-high. I definitely got a little sway, so I'm going to level it out with the new shank and continue to use the adapter.

Around here, several of us have had troubles with the adapters. Yes, I have a Ford, and two of my buddies each have a Dodge and a Chevy. My toyhauler(deer camp trailer) is only 8k pounds and it has been the adapter. If you ever tow with a WDH and the shank is even just a little difficult to remove, don't use it again or take the chance of the adapter not coming out. I thought at first it was just my truck and another Ford that sometimes camps with us, as his will NOT come out now, but it's happened with the Chevy and Dodge too. I am going to solve this problem by getting this Blue Ox shank. It is a 2.5", so no need for an adapter. I'm sure more mfrs will make them soon.

Thanks for the info. I rather use the 2.5" than use the adapter in fear it will make tons of noise or get stuck like you said. I have the equalizer so I want to stick with an equlizer shank and this is the cheapest I have found it.

Hi just joined and thought I would first post here. You all have some nice tow vehicles. Mine is getting old, but still does the job! Say Hello to Spike!

Spike is a 2000 GMC Sierra with a 5.3L V8 2WD. Or should I say one wheel peel as it does not have posi. He currently has 220,000 miles and is just barely broken in.

No offense... But you must be a female? Just wondering because you'd be the first guy I knew of to name your truck with a male "name"! Mine is "Bessie". Lol.

Our first trailer was a 78 Prowler. It was pretty cool other than the fact we had to sleep on the fold down couch. Ours was a 15 1/2 foot.
