I'm part Norwegian so I kept saying Fjord and a high population of Spanish in my area so I couldn't pronounce Chebby.[emoticon]

Here is mine.

But seriously though, after going through a few pages of this thread I have a serious case of truck envy going on right now. There is some really nice trucks posted in here for sure!

Anyways, I'll be in the corner pouting if you need me [emoticon]

After a few weeks of searching around for a replacement for the TBSS, I ended up getting this 2005 Suburban 2500 LT with the 8.1L & 4.10 gears. Excited to get the TT hooked up to it and see what it can do...But I'm pretty sure it will be up for the task!

Congrats DJ. We picked up our 2500 Burb (8.1/4.10) a little less than a year ago. We're now towing a 35' trailer at 8,000 pounds and she handles it liked dream. Gas usage hurts, but the tow experience is incomparable for an SUV.

Thanks! I'm anxious too actually!

Was leaning towards getting a Crew Cab truck for quite a while, but I think the Suburban is going to work out much better with the dog riding along. I like to keep her crate with me so that if I need to go in anywhere for a minute, she can be secured. She's unfortunately been known to tear up tinted windows when left out, so the Burb is going to provide plenty of room for that.

This is very encouraging. I will be pulling a 28' trailer that weighs in around 6-7K, so I'm hoping for a pleasant experience. The TBSS always pulled it OK, but really struggled when there was heavy side winds. Also, I avoided any mountain grades because I was unsure if it could handle it. Coming down the back side of the mountain is not where you want to find out it couldn't handle it!

In 2013 however, we're hitting the high ground. So watch out Trout, you got a break in 2012 but I'm coming for you this spring! [emoticon]

Your 2500 will toy with that trailer. Our keystone weighs about 6500 and my 8.1 doesn't even labor to pull it.

I came from a 1/2 ton Suburban and then upgraded to a 3/4 ton with the 8.1L. It's a night and day difference between the two trucks. I'm betting you'll experience the same thing with your upgrade.

My 454 Suburban twed our 32 trailer like nothing. The gas mileage really sucked bad though.
