Thanks for the birthday wishes. I have taken advice given: Celebrate the birthday but don't count them. Works for me.

Good morning everyone. It's a beautiful morning here in the Deep South. It's 47 degrees right now, a bit cool but it will warm up nicely by this afternoon.

I hope all is well with everyone and you are having a blessed weekend. Be sure to give the fur babies a hug for me and be sure to tell someone you love them.

Good morning everyone. Another beautiful day for us. I guess it is safe to say Winter is gone and we are heading into Spring and Summer. Yesterday the camper got a good washing on the outside, it's looks like new.

The fur gang is well and active this morning as we get ready to face the day. Ava sent us a funny story about her day yesterday that I will have to tell you when I have more time. Okay I need to get moving so I will close for now wishing everyone a blessed day. Be sure to give the fur babies a hug for me and be sure to tell someone you love them.

Ava's true story.

So this morning we went to Lowes to buy a new mower. We got it out and assembled it with no instructions (missing), UGH. I folded up the heavy box & put it in my car to carry to recycling. I had my key in my red (same color as the car) wristlet and set it on the closed trunk. I got distracted for a few minutes before I jumped in the car with Furgie to go to the dump. Well, guess where my key was????? I get to the dump & turn off the car, unload, go to leave & the car won't start. It didn't take me long to figure out what had happened. The next problem arises when realize I also left my cell phone at home. Not that it would have mattered since Travis was outside mowing. I didn't have a leash for Furgs and couldn't leave her in the car since my windows were rolled up. What does one do in this situation you are asking yourself (bahahahahah). I turn to a stranger black man next to me and asked for help. He kindly lent me his cell phone. I knew this would not be good since most of you don't answer random numbers. What next? I grabbed Furgs and jumped into his truck since he offered me a ride home (this is how murders happen)! Furgs was terrified but calm. I was fine, just looking down at the road to see if my bright red bag was to be found. We get home & he was a VERY nice man. He worked at BMW & said that BMW may be able to locate my key. I was grateful for that information. Then we get the spare key and head back to the dump to get the abandoned car. With Gods grace we managed to spot the red bag just past the Cash on the way and recover the key! When we got home, Furgs had a meltdown when we were gone and almost tore through the door! I'm going to give her some meds and take some of my own! Just thought I would put this one in writing~Since you didn't answer the random call to your phone (LOL)

I'm with you, Doctor Doug. If someone asks how old I am, I just tell them the year I was born. THEY can figure it out -- not that important to me.

Well, I admit to being occasionally bemused by my age, but that's pretty much it.

Suzie was running across the yard when she hurt herself. She is limping and her left rear ankle is swollen. She won't put weight on it so I gave her a tramadol to get by until tomorrow when I can take her to the vet.

Good morning everyone. Suzie is not any better. Her appetite is good as she is eating her breakfast and looking for more. As a puppy she had a problem with her knee popping out of joint, maybe that's the problem, but her ankle looks swollen. Anyway I am taking her to the Vet this morning to find out what is going on.

Have a blessed day. Be sure to give the fur babies a hug for me and be sure to tell someone you love them.

Dr. Moore examined Suzie and took x-rays. Nothing really showed up as to the cause of her pain. He gave us novox for pain and an antibiotic for infection and a supplement for joints.

Dr. Doug, Suzie is walking on her tiptoes on her left rear leg. She is in pain and will not put full weight on her paw. The X-Rays didn't show anything you could hang your hat on as to the cause of her pain. There was some beginnings of arthritis in the lower joint in the ankle, but at this point it so minute Dr. Moore felt this was not the cause. Just before we left his office he noticed the curling in of her left rear paw and was concerned that he hadn't noticed it before in his exam. He said if she wasn't any better by Wednesday to bring her back for more X-Rays.

He mentioned if there was something going on with the ligament in that leg it would not show up in the X-Ray and he would have to try something different. At this point he is guessing as to what is going on. There was no sign of cancer of anything going on with the bones.

Does she have swelling in the hock? This was an acute injury/problem after going outside? I suspect a soft tissue injury/joint sprain if there are no radiographic changes. Treatment is rest and anti-inflammatories. Re-evaluate if no improvement in several days.
