Topic: A very old stray {The Old Fella Story}

Good morning everyone. Spring has finally arrived. We will be in the mid to upper 70's all next week with lows in the mid to upper 50's. Rain in the forecast for Monday and Tuesday and the grass is turning green with all the flowering plants doing their thing.

Mary, Sue's friend from Michigan went home yesterday and texted Sue on her arrival in Grand Rapids at about 10:30am. Sue took her to the airport at 4am so she would be on time for her flight. Sue got back home and went back to bed by 4:55am. We both slept longer than we should have but it was nice sleeping hearing the rain falling outside.

The pollen was washed away by the rain, all except what is on the porch, so I will hose that off sometime today.

Our 81 year old neighbor went on their trip to South Georgia with their new to them camper and blew out two tires on the trip. When they got home they bought five new tires and now ready for their next trip to Raleigh North Carolina next week. I wish he had talked to me before buying tires I would have steered him away from the China maypops.

Sue is getting ready to walk with Dixie and Suzie. Dixie is following Sue whining and crying to hit the road while Suzie is in the bedroom sulking because I put the flea stuff on her.

Okay I need to get moving so I will close for now wishing everyone a blessed day. Be sure to give the fur babies a hug for me and be sure to tell someone you love them

It was a gorgeous day yesterday. Sunny and 68 degrees. Today will be more of the same but will be 70. Rain will move in later today and cool things off for the start of the week. But at least appears Spring has arrived.

Good morning everyone. The fog is so dense this morning you cannot see very far so driving will be dangerous. The fur babies are well, still waiting on Sue to get out of bed. I have an 8:45 meeting at church so I am up early.

I hope all is well with everyone. The weather forecast calls for rain today and tomorrow with temperatures in the lower 70's. We have birds building nests in the birdhouses so soon we will baby birds learning to fly and taking their place in God's Nature.

I need to get moving so I will close for now wishing everyone a blessed day. Be sure to give the fur babies a hug for me and be sure to tell someone you love them. We will leave a light on just in case someone needs to place to stay.

Good morning everyone. Heavy fog again this morning, need fog horn to navigate in this mess. Today we are forecast to have some bad weather with strong thunderstorms and possible hail. Hope we don't see any of that.

We are doing well, looking forward to getting the day started. Sue is walking out the door with Dixie and Suzie, going for their morning walk while Lizzie watches from the window. The neighbors have a pretty tabby cat that is about five years old, She is an outside cat, so lately she has been hanging around our house looking for attention. She comes running up and wraps herself around my legs and talks to me every night when I go out to check on things before going to bed. She has figured out what time I go out and she meets me at the door. I stop and pet her and talk with her for a while and that seems to make her happy, also I give her some treats so maybe that is one reason she meets me every night.

I hope everyone is well and looking forward to a blessed ay week. I need to get moving so I will close for now wishing you a blessed day. Be sure to give the fur babies a ug for me and be sure to tell someone you love them.

We had a fun weekend. My wife Donna got an offer from the Immokalee Hard Rock Casino/Hotel for two free nights and tickets to see the Village People and KC and the Sunshine band. Disco music is not my thing but I had a really good time. It was a lot of fun. The hotel is about a 2 hour drive from our house but the traffic was horrible. I couldn't get out of work until 5pm and had to drive during rush hour. The weekend only cost me the price of gas. The hotel even comped our meals. I guess all that money my wife puts in the slot machines paid off. She even won a little money.

Next weekend is much of the same. Donna got an invitation only offer to see Paula Dean on Saturday night. There is also a meet and greet with Paula Dean on Sunday morning at 11am where you get your picture taken with Paula and get a autographed cook book. I really didn't want to go down there two weekends in a row but my wife loves Paula Dean and I couldn't let miss this opportunity. We really like Paula's restaurant in Savannah, Georgia. The best shrimp and grits I ever ate was at "Lady and Son's" in Savannah.

Our niece Rachael watched the dogs while we were gone and she will be coming over again next weekend to watch them. The dogs love Rachael. Murphy is back to her old self now. You can tell she is feeling good now. I stopped giving her pain meds but she still has some antibiotics to take. I am so glad she is back to her crazy Jack Russel self! She still acts like a puppy in her old age.

Good morning everyone. It's very cloudy and it looks like more rain coming our way. It is 64 degrees outside right now and we expect a high today of 77 degrees, Things are turning green in a hurry since we have warmed up and had some rain. Yesterday I cut up a huge root that was in the driveway, back where the camper is stored. Since we have new neighbors and the property line has been better defined I found out I have been using some of his property as my driveway. The root wasn't a problem until I had to move over and then it became a huge bump, so I decided to remove it, it wasn't easy.

Sue just got back with the girls. They love their morning walk. I hope everyone has a blessed day. Be sure to give the fur babies a hug for me and be sure to tell someone you love them.

Good morning everyone. It's a beautiful morning here in the Deep South. Lots of sunshine, clear skies and it's 58 degrees, nice morning for a walk. Dixie and Suzie are put with Sue for their morning walk while Lizzie watches out the window from the back of the sofa.

We had some rain yesterday, but not much. I was able to cut the large root that was in the gravel driveway down by the camper. It was a tough cut as the root had turned to cement. Today I have to go to the doctor for the pre-op for the surgery on my right eye. I will be glad with it's over. Removing a cataract isn't that big of a deal in today's knowledge, but when it's the only eye you have its a big deal.

I hope all is well with everyone and I wish you a blessed day. Be sure to give the fur babies a hug for me and be sure to tell someoneyou love them.

I think we have created a monster with Murphy. Since she had her 3 teeth removed from her abscess, we had been giving her can food in the mornings. Now, every morning, she barks in the kitchen wanting her can food. We are trying to get her back to the dry food. The last two mornings my wife put some dry food in a bowl and added a little water. She eats it that way but I am hoping she gets back to just eating the dry food when she is hungry. We always just leave dry food for the dogs and they will eat when they want. Jack Russells are hard headed and stubborn so I'm not sure Murphy will give up her can food easily!

2 days ago I noticed a chick a dee sitting in my tail pipe. I went out to the truck and picked a piece of straw about a foot long out. Looked in there and did not see anything. Well yesterday I drove the truck and when I returned home there was a ball of straw and grass in the drive way. I then figure they were building a nest in my tail pipe. today I drove the truck again I looked inside of the pipe before starting and did not see anything. When I was out I noticed check engine light on. When I arrived back home there was another big ball of grass and straw. i would never of thought a bird would ever do that.
Now I have to put a sleeve on my tail pipe while it is parked in the driveway.[emoticon]

They are looking for places to nest. I cut down a tree in my back yard that was causing problems and the birds decided that they could build there new nests on my patio fans. I turned the fans on and had a lot of nesting material to clean up along with the stuff on our tables and chairs. I left the fans on for several days to let them know it was not a good place to nest. I did gather up all the twigs and put them in the side yard. All gone to there new area, I guess. And no, there were no eggs.
