A note about the Rally in Branson for July. I just gave her that month knowing that an offical month had not been set at press time. So June or August is still the month of the rally.

Great article. We need to put a warning up on the title. Something like "Kleenex required for reading". [emoticon] I love this story and have been reading since the beginning. Keep up the good work DixieFlyer.

Old Fella is now longing for a romp out in the world by himself. He goes to the front of the house and looks out the screen door and sometimes he tries to make a break for it when someone comes in. I watch him as he just stands there looking out for the longest time. Then he will lay down so he can look out into the front yard.

I watched him the other evening in the back yard as he stood at the gate. He would put his nose on the latch testing to see if he can open it. Then he put his front paws on the top of the fence, I think testing to see if he could climb over it. He must miss his big play ground at the campground and the ability to go where ever he wanted when ever he wanted. I guess that is to be expected from someone who has had that much freedom and now has been confined to a house and back yard.

He is still doing well and has adapted to the regular routine of the household. He goes out into the back yard in the mornings and does his thing and then comes into the kitchen for his breakfast. He waits his turn in the order of things and then eats all that is placed before him, then he goes to his bed and lays down and dozes for a while. He is definitely an old fella. When you look close at his skin and face you see the wrinkles of an old fella showing through. I hope he lives another 4-5 years with out any problems from his neglect. He deserves that I think. Anyway that is all from this end for now. Talk with you later.

I thought ya'll might be interested in what our community is doing for this problem. Your local paper may be interested. Our dog this week is "Left" and he was adopted, his new Mom called us. The cost for this is low and is tax deductable. Please check out this link:

Thanks for the interesting link--what nice looking animals! (Sydney is so cute....it's lucky I live in Texas instead of closer.)

I hope they all find their special homes.
