[b]Just in case this rally deal gets off the ground, I had an idea for all the DOTL attendees. since they will be "off duty" at the rally, it really makes no sense to wear their full uniform. :W It occured to me a nice, civilian dog style bandana might be nice though!!! This place will personalize bandanas:

Just take Favre out (no problem there!) and substitute your DOTL's name and under that "DOTL". I kinda like the green with gold lettering. Almost as good as a green beret! :B

Old Fella is getting spoiled by the minute. It is raining here, at times very heavy. When it lets up for a minute I open the door to the back yard for Levi and Old Fella to go out. Old Fella looks at the wet ground and says, "Not me bubba!" I have to walk out with him so he is assured that I won't leave him outside. He is becoming so attached to me that it is now bothering me as I think he is becoming obsessive. He eyes Levi and Izzie very closely when they come near me. He hasn't done anything naughty yet, except last night when Levi tried to nose his way into the food bowl with him. Old Fella didn't take too kindly to that. So I'll just have to feed them separately for a while.

[b]Richard,
As much as a celebrity that Old Fella is now, be sure he know's that you and your wife are the boss. Obedience class maybe? You can always teach an old dog new tricks!

Dixie Flyer, don't worry too much about obsessiveness. Our Kuvasz is always right beside me. Right now he's laying down behind my chair. If I get up to go downstairs or into another room, he follows. If I go outside, he wants to be there with me. If I lay down, he lays down right beside me. If I go in the bathroom to take a pee, he follows and sits beside me. Last night I was speculating what I'll do without my shadow when he leaves this world. Kuvasz are protectors and this is all he is doing ... making sure I am well. He used to get a little jealous when I paid attention to our other dog, but I simply used a negative tone with him to let him know his behavior wasn't okay. He always watched though, just to be sure I was safe.
We always had separate food dishes when we had two dogs. One tended to eat a little faster than the other and we wanted to be sure they were each getting the right portions. We'd set the dishes down a few feet apart and they both knew who's dish went where.
He doesn't like going out for a pee in the rain either. He sticks his nose out the door, sniffs a bit, and then pulls it back in and walks away. I figure he's able to hold it overnight, so I just let him stay in. He'll go out when he needs to go.

Yeah if you aren't doing the training he will. We have an established feeding protocol, the dominant female gets fed first and her younger stronger brother is 2nd. He likes his position just fine, no responsibility.

For the rally, perhaps we need a new thread on the rally forum, rather than moving this one? Then this one can continue as is and where is, and those interested in attending the rally can go forth on the other forum.
Many of us feel like god-parents to Old Fella (could that be dog-parents?) and by keeping the two discussions separate, we can check in on Old Fella easily without having to filter through rally plans. And if we want to go to the rally, we can check in on the other forum.
