Once again this thread has made my day. I've been stuck dealing with a contractor today, but could not wait until we were done talkiing, so that I could log on and see how Old Fellow was doing with his new family. I was most worried about how he would react to Izzy. Whewwww, what a relief. I am so happy today...This is a wonderful (new beginning) not the end....Barb

Dr. Gradous says Old Fellow should live out the rest of his days without any further complications. He has no pain nor any discomfort from the bad foot and his teeth are going to be okay. He was not able to cap them or do anything about the root canal showing, but he says the nerve has been dead a long time and won't cause him any problems. He rode home in the cab of the truck with me just like he had been doing that all of his life. He is resting now in the kennel cage in the dinning room where it is nice and cool. He looks so good all dressed up with his bandanna on with the red collar. The first thing he did was go and eat the cats food, that was just to show who is really going to be boss around here. Izzie seem to sense that Old Fellow wanted to be friends and they hit it off right away.

Things just couldn't have been better especially while they were in the back yard together. Old Fellow strutting around with the tail held high showing off his new bandanna and red collar. Yep folks, he has really found a home!

Dixie! That's the best news ever--I know the only guy happier than Old Fellow is you!!!

A side note--we took in our second beagle when her owner died last year. Jeanie and Happy (our original pup) are like blood kin and very best friends--they are always right together.

And.....they always (!) eat the cat's food whenever they get a chance.

Cant' wait for the pics!!!

This is just the best news. All of your fur-babies get along. Happy, happy, happy. Can't wait to see the pictures. Can you include a picture of all 3 of your babies? I would love to see them, also.

I know Old Fellow will have a long and happy life with you and your wife. I pray for only the best for your family.

I think your other dog needs a new bandana and perhaps "dad" does, too. That way you can all strut around together. [emoticon]

I just adore happy endings!!!!

Yay - what a wonderful day! I'm so glad OF is doing well and everyone is getting along! And I know you, Rich, must be completely over the moon right now! I can't wait to see the pics of everyone, including Izzy [emoticon] !

Just be glad Izzy isn't on prescription food - somehow our cat food disappears at a much faster rate than two little cats can eat it!

I've been waiting and wondering all day to "hear" the news. What a great, great day!

For the last hour or so I have been watching Old Fellow walk through the house and size up the back yard. He has given it his approval. He is catching on fast by watching Levi. He has already caught on to "Do you want to go outside?" But he is ignoring "Do you want to go inside?"

He seems so comfortable in his new surroundings. He lay for a long time in the back yard just rolling around in the grass, soaking up the fresh air and enjoying the green grass beneath him. If ever I have seen someone find peace in their life I have witnessed it today. What a blessing I have received. I have a picture of Izzie and Old Fellow touching noses, I hope it turns out.
