I am a teacher. I see children left behind, too. No lunch, no supplies, no healthcare, no one cares. We live in a throw away society.

God bless you for getting that dog.

This morning I went back and looked at the first post on this thread dated September 5th when the wife and I returned from our camping trip to Modoc Corps of Engineers campground in South Carolina. Life has taken new meaning for me and an old dog has found his way into my heart since then. This has been a learning experience for he and I both. I have learned in the past month what a great people we have here on this forum. Because of your encouraging I found it within myself to do something unselfish and go out of my way to help an animal who so desperately needed someone to rescue him. Old Fellow has learned to love and trust again and he has found many new friends. As of this morning there has been over 7,000 views of this thread and many have shown their generousity by helping with his vet and boarding bill. Old Fellow has found his way into your hearts as well and now belongs to all of us on this forum.

Today Old Fellow begins a new life with his new family and this is just the beginning for all of us. I hope you will stay in touch and remember to ask from time to time how things are going. Thank you for your support. I will continue to post pictures and updates so please look for us on the forum. I will be updating this afternoon with pictures and his reaction to his new surroundings.

I can't wait to see more pics of Old Fellow. I have been following this post since you started it and is one of the first that I go to when I get on. There is such a change in his appearance, you just know that he is happy. When you bring him home, please give him a belly rub from me, Quincy and Chloe.

Old Fellow looks great!

I went to pick him up and they had three emergencies going on and were not able to take out the stitches from his surgery, so I will have to go back at 2 o'clock and pick him up. Oh well, that's how it goes sometimes.

This is kind of like waiting for the "new baby" to get home from the hospital. [emoticon] The day must be dragging for you!
