I gave up on the kleenex, and only check in when I have on long sleeves. If I were to buy kleenex I would be better to invest in it. This is such a wonderful story that words can not descripe. I am just wondering if it should be a rush job on the book and if it should not include the rally. I am not one to second guess, just a thought.
God Bless Richard and his family along with everyone envoled with this thread.
Everyone of is a special type of person.
Thank you all.

Hey,
Are we all going to be crying when we get to Branson? Thank GOD they will be tears of JOY and Happiness. We have a box of Kleenex by the computer all the time now. I don't know if I ever told anyone the story on how we got to be basset parents. When our daughter Alison was about 5 years old she came home with a little basset puppy in her hands crying that the lady that had him was going to kill him. This was a 6-week-old puppy and because of some reason the breeder that we had living next to us could not get papers for this puppy. So she was going to have the puppy put down. I told her that I would take him, and of course I was not going to take NO for an answer. We had to keep him because I fell in love with him. Sort of what you did with Old Fella. Buy the way, Bowey was the best dog we ever had and he lived to be 18 years old. That is why your story Richard has touched so many people that way it has. I think we have all come to a dogs rescue sometime in our lives, but not to the extent that you have. There is a little bit of all of us in you Richard and we all would love to be the number one buddy in Fella life, you just got the wining lottery ticket. Thank Richard for bringing a little sunshine in to our sometimes dark and gray life’s....
If you think nobody cares if you're alive, try missing a couple of
payments on your RV.

This morning Old Fella walked over to me as I was sitting at my desk and started nudging my arm. When I turned to him he lay on the floor and turned his belly up to me for his rub. As I was rubbing him he started to lick my hand. I have noticed that his eyes are more oval shape when he is being patted or stroked reather than the round shape when I first saw him. He has that I'm going to love you for the rest of my life look.
I didn't mention it yesterday because I didn't want to worry anyone. But Dr. Gradous gave him the last of the medication to get rid of the nymphs that were left floating around in his blood stream. Well he went through the night and all is well this morning. We are now finished with the heart worm treatment and I feel it is safe to say we are done and all is well. What we have now is a healthy, well Old Fella!

That is fantastic news. It's amazing to me how well Old Fellow looks. You see the before pictures and then the recent ones, I swear it looks like a different dog. Great job Richard.

From Dixie Flyer wrote: Levi has his moments, but all in all he is doing great with Old Fella. The problem is Old Fella has no play in him at all. Levi is full of play,......sometimes to watch Levi trying to get a playful response from Fella and just can't do it, but that doesn't mean he gives up....Levi loves the company and is a love sponge by nature. He wants more than anything to have romping good playmate----Old Fella---well he is old and wants his peace and quiet. Fella will adjust to Levi's antics because Levi never gives up.
Don't give up on OF. He may just not know what "playing" is. 4 years ago we got a rescue dog who (we believe) had never played in her life. She never understood why our other dog liked to play so much. It took 3 years, but she is learning to play - bringing toys to us - and even playing with the cat now and then. She started out by just getting the toys and lying on them. So she has come along way. She is a sweetheart and I am glad we gave her some happiness in her life. Our best guess at age is 10-12 now. She is an oddly built dog (short legs, long heavy body), but she doesn't care and neither do we. OF will play soon enough - especially if Levi keeps at it!
