The largest most noisome noise I had in the RV was the squeekysqueeky from the flatscreen TV shortly after purchase.

Snowman9000 wrote: Burl, I took a photo, below. My trim is not glued on. The center piece is held by 3 screws on each end. Each side piece is held by the 3 screws where it meets the center piece, and 2 screws on the gray furry end panel. Those 2 screws are under the gray button caps. There are actually snaps there under those caps, with the screws in the middle. You have to pry the furry caps off to get to the snap & screw. So assuming you are talking about removing the side pieces, take off those 5 screws. Oh, the towel was shoved in behind the center trim piece. Maybe there are towels shoved into the side areas too! I've never taken off that trim to look. Heck, maybe TL shoved the towels in, lol. ![]() ![]() It took about 17 pages, but found Snowman's post that, along w/ Cheeze's and one other, have haunted me since last July. In the pic, Snowman shoys the curved gray trim that I have called green (not great w. some shades of color), and the same goes for my green cab flanking panels. Snow's trim is different from mine, and I simply could not get mine off in the middle region - thus the great discovery that I could remove the domelite and get a bolt thru the steel roof and plywood deck. These various mods may help others w/ the B+ fiberglass shell cap. BT Cruisers by Gulfstream and lots of of R-Vision and Holiday Rambler cabovers are very similar. What I found unique from any posts I can recall was that mine had no screws connecting ceiling board to angled side cabinets w/ doors. If you hear lumber jostling up there on rough road, you may want to chech this. The bolt (or 4 drywall screws) should quiet down most bird-chirping squeaks. * This post was last edited 05/09/14 09:20am by burlmart * 2005 Trail Lite 213 B-Plus w/ 6.0 Chevy

I appreciate seeing what you're talking about. I've been somehow unable to access this thread the past few days due to some kind of computer hiccup. The squeak I mentioned with the TV, responded well to careful positioning of several rubber shims made from old heel lifts. The photo above shows wood panels the same tone as mine...."birch" they tell me. We have not yet been brave enough to unlimber the awning. It seems 'unused' as the prior owner never rolled it out and said the original never did either. I supposed doing it at home for inspection would answer a host of questions. It SEEMS much like any other we've had, and they all are about the same operation. Still, "if it ain't broke yet, it's hard to fix; or 'if it ain't broke we're gonna fix it until it is'".... or some such..... |

We never use our awning. It really does not fit in to a B/B+ mode of moving around. I would like it if it were removed. When we did unfurl it once or twice a few years back, it looked fine, so maybe don't fret over it much.

I agree with Burl. I took mine off and was glad, but then DW wanted to try it next time we were out. I did use it a few times, but I could have easily never purchased it. If you do remove the awning, remember it's spring loaded. Google the removal process and pay strict attention to the spring section. I also removed all the mounting brackets when I removed mine and discovered, in typical RT fashion, some of bolts screwing into next to nothing. Some of those overhead squeaky's are from the cab roof contacting the front overhang. BT Cruisers had a bad time with that for a while, In addition, a few wires were just laying on the cab roof. I used rubber shims and a liberal amount of silicone to fix it, and it stayed fixed. I never had noise from the flatscreen, only the tube tv which, after jumping out of the box after some bad jolts was not sticking around long at that point. Chas Morristown, NJ Trail Lite ">

Just a note to everyone-------------------even if you don't use your awning you should let it out on occasion to dry in the event it has collected water. I know mine does even though both ends and the front are covered. It's really a job to clean all the mildew off. Overcab Noise Report The sound of lumber jostling on moderate bumps persists, and we wonder (a little) if it is coming from the chassis front end. If so, it has been doing this for all 9+ years. What does a bad shock or spring do/sound like? |

The Apollo half time oven in our TL213 quit microwaving. Fixable? Replace with what?

Apollo half time oven does a good job, but is a real power hog in our 213. It draws 18 Amps, so no heaters, hair dryers or AC at same time. Try to find a different brand convection/microwave that will fit if you can. Then post it here
