thanks for the tip ronfisherman; the shelf I have has a pre-mounted piano hinge to stability and adds a folding shelf bracket of a slightly different design for a support. Do the ones you link work well with no banging/rubbing sounds when down and traveling?

I had considered that design, but the lower cabinet veneer is very thin, and it looks like I may need to add blocking behind inside the cabinet anyway.

Our has been up for 6 years. Recently noticed when I brake hard the shelf does move and make a clunking sound. Not a problem but it has loosened over the years. Need to tighten up the brackets. It is out over the stair well and only gets used when DW needs the extra counter space for cooking. The link I showed is similar to brackets I am using. The ones I have are SS that I picked up in Elkhart, IN.

I have been informed the position SWMBO wants it on the counter location just between the dinette rear seat back, and the sink. There's a straight spot there just the right size for the shelf.

Still I'd like to see some close up photos of your installation if possible.

In our B+ the entertainment center and electronics are all located in cabinets over the cab. As I mentioned in a previous post the television is not connected to the surround sound. The sound system and DVD player are easily accessible and the back is accessible. The plugs for the system are also easily accessible. The problem is the television. It s built in and the cords come through holes in the center cabinet into the open cabinet with the DVD etc.

Being non handy would we be better off taking it into where? for the television to be added to the surround sound? An audio specialty shop? One of the RV repair shops? One of the big box electronics stores? I believe the sound system is a Jensen.

Suggestions and ideas are appreciated.

Looking forward to new adventures and new friends.

A picture of the input/output jacks of the TV might be googled, as well as one for the dvd/surround unit. If TV is older, it (and/or the digital converter box) might only have stereo output sound RCA jacks for L and R channels. Hooking these to L and R input jacks of DVD unit would be what is needed. No 5 channel surround, though.

If you can’t see an easy way to access the back of the set with a hand, and using the picture to know by feel where to plug in the L and R RCA wires, you might have to look for how to remove screws to what is likely a wood frame that keeps TV contained in place (how mine was). Your main problem as I figure is access to see where to connect. The connections are simple household electronics plug in wires to jacks. If you go to RV place, $100/hr, but likely a ½ hr job. Maybe a car audio installer…or a responsible techie teenager.

Thanks for the suggestions. The only part I'm having trouble with - Should "responsible" and "Teenager" be used in the same sentence?

Funny.

Still, if you asked around your circle of friends, a kid you may/maynot know may be recommended who would do it simply because it needs to be done. It is too simple to let it not be fixed.

I think such folk are still there.

Actually, my neighbor has great kids, but they are never there - either working, in school or coaching soccer.

We have the MH at the house this week, had to reschedule our trip to Edisto, so I will take a closer look at how the television is secured in its cabinet. We cannot access it from the side so we will have to open the frame.

We are camped in Florida, and on our loop is a newer version of our TL 213. It's a "Damara by Safari" 213. I had never heard of this version. It's on a Ford, but otherwise the typical 213.

Currently RV-less but not done yet.

Where are you in FL? We're in Melbourne at Wickham Park, Loop B, in our "house", the 213 is in storage in the north.

After only a few months ownership and a handful of trips, my Sweet Bride has decided she would like our 213 better if it had a bed slide-out.section.

Given the barely broke-in condition (33000 miles) and like-new interior, I doubt such a trade is feasible.
