We also bought the wooden cutting board stove topper. Our rattle turned out to be that the range top was a little loose where it fits to the counter. Since it comes off for cleaning, I was able to bend the springy tabs to put more tension on it. That worked for us.

Can you put a folding shelf on the panel to the right of the cabinet door that is below the sink? That seems like a great location for one. I put a 120v outlet there, so I have been hesitant to cover that with a folding shelf.

Currently RV-less but not done yet.

I bought the wood cutting board, and installed some kind of grommets to stop that noise, which can fray nerves![emoticon]

My B+ is getting a D- on mpg.

So big a world, so little time to see.

Re: folding shelf
The 2 issues I want to solve prior to install are these:

1) the piano hinge is to fit under my counter top per once of the "2" choices on the installation directions.....however, what ISN'T shown, is the edge-molding on the counter top...which while rather attractive stands about 1/8" above the top along the edge......and about 1/2" below the bottom surface....all along the edge from the stove top to the back of the dinette seat. I've figured a couple ways to deal with it but want to make sure I'm not overlooking some better simpler easier way.

2) I like the looks & design of the folding metal bracket that supports the shelf when extended up....but concern of the lower mounting plate left to screw in (& THROUGH) the thin veneer of the under sink cabinet. Yes, I can probably manage to cobble up an interior block of some sort. Limited access and more to the point, crabby semi-geezer with vision issues having to get down on floor with part of body inserted under sink while doing other parts of the task from the out side surface Will let you know how it comes along, although surgery is Monday so I may not get to it for a while.

Also considering removing part of the dinette cushion keeper.....the cloth covered hard thing that goes from the upper back down the along the outside seat cushion. So far all it seems to do, other than 'look nice' is to dig into my various fleshy body parts depending on which are closer to them. There's one on each center-aisle side, that defines that part of the cushion-area. I don't think I need them, they are bad enough to sit on/slither across, and horrid when trying to sleep.

Thanks to whoever gave the idea of trying to sleep with the head toward the table end rather than the sofa end. THAT alone may solve some of our issues.....so next outing I have three (3) NEW potential bed solutions!!!

Okay, I give up what mpg would it have to get to get a B+? [emoticon]

Mine is getting a true 12.1 overall mpg average (total miles/total gallons). Would that be enough?

When we bought our unit, it had an analog tube type Television. The antennae worked great as did the Television. When the government mandated that Television over the air signals be digital versus analog, the TV stopped working. Because of the way it is built in, it would have been next to impossible to install a converter with it's own remote control to change the analog signal to digital for the old Television.

We replaced with a flat screen digital Television and the factory antennae works great after activating the booster. However, I miss the old analog TV that would get snow if the antennae was not turned correctly. The digital requires you to guess the direction the signal might be coming from, crank to that direction, and then do a channel scan. The picture is OKAY until you move the RV, then you have to repeat again. [emoticon]

In open flat country in clear weather within 45 mi of the TV tower in a TREELESS cg and knowing just where to point the batwing antenna (booster amp on), your HDTV can scan and recieve stations coming from THAT direction.

To get any other signals from towers from any other direction and meeting above requirements, you gotta know where to point and rescan.

This was done for cable companies who are laughing at those who are now stuck w/ ridiculously directional/clear-line-of-sight OTA.

And while it has absolute magnificent flat screen tv & high end CD etc, I have barely figured out how to turn on the radio.

lol - Our first trip out I spent way too much time trying to get the television to go through the surround sound speakers.

Answer is: We can't, the speakers only work for the DVD player. [emoticon]

Looking forward to new adventures and new friends.

I'm almost ready to install a little fold-up shelf that fits with a piano hinge onto the edge of the sink area counter. The directions are clear, the parts are all here, the size etc is perfect for the task.

Since the instructions list type "A" and type "B" install, of course ours will require a type "C".....our counter top has a plastic edge-molding that rises slightly above the top surface, and about 1/2" below the bottom. In either case, it blocks access of the piano hinge to the counter top.

I just visited with a retired master finish carpenter I know. He advised the approach I outlined before, as being the ONLY possible way to do the job.....

Off to the home-tool store tomorrow!!!

Oh, the cataract surgery went VERY well and I'm 48 hours postOp. Seems to be working as intended, while my pupil is still a bit dilated.

I can shop for tools but not quite ready to do the project yet.

Instead of using a piano hinge. I used folding shelf brackets for our shelf off sink counter.

thanks for the tip ronfisherman; the shelf I have has a pre-mounted piano hinge to stability and adds a folding shelf bracket of a slightly different design for a support. Do the ones you link work well with no banging/rubbing sounds when down and traveling?

I had considered that design, but the lower cabinet veneer is very thin, and it looks like I may need to add blocking behind inside the cabinet anyway.
