Got the solenoid changed on the ovverdrive unit. Real fun...Had a slight problem in getting the oil in. That took awhile. Installed a Battery Tender on the rig, and have it plugged in. Since the weather turned nasty with thunder and rain, there was no test drive. Supposed to be nice today...Might tke it out for alittle bit. There are alot of thing I want to do. Getting the generator to start with the switch in the coach, replacing and updating the stereo, adding gauges (have to pull the dash apart), do a complete tune up including Fire Core 50 wires, Splitfire plugs, Green Air Filter, and Amsoil motor oil...Yep gonna be busy.....If I could post a pic I would....

'76 Dodge, Class C, 24 ft, 440 engine. Bought it a little over a year ago and have been eyebrow deep in repairs and reconditioning since, and LOVE IT! Spent months trying to find just the right older model Dodge to give lots of TLC. Had some major issues with mechanical and electrcal problems, but it's coming along great. I would love to share ideas, share the agonies and learn more from those who also have a fondness for the Dodge breed. I must be a RV redneck! I christened it "Rosebud" with a toast of beer, then asked the Lords blessing in Rosebuds travels. |

Hi all. New poster here. I've read up through page 181 of 505 so far and thought I'd just post up my question. Recently got our first RV, a '79 Beaver with a 440 although I'm no stranger to Mopars or backyard mechanics in general. Looking for info on dealer-installed cab AC. This unit is a Chrysler "Cool Pack" system but I presume the ARA system and other add-on systems are very similar. Unfortunatly the MH is stored offsite so I've not yet had a chance to open up the dash to get a visual reference on what components are where. This add-on AC system is plumbed completely differently than the factory system so my manuals are useless. I'm specifically trying to figure out what triggers the blower fan, how the coolant pressure switch is wired, and how the air diverter door is triggered to send the cooled air through the dash vents. If anyone has any info on this system or can point me to an online resources I'd be most grateful. I mean, the Cool Pack system is supplied straight from Chrysler to dealers so there has to be a service manual or something. Thanks all. |

Trish Davis wrote: Leeann, Oldtrucker, Jer... If I could keep going, I would. I cannot. I can't stand up long enough to take a shower and can barely walk. Offspring call it shuffle'n'lean, as opposed to walking. They are going to build a "cage" (L-4 to S-1) to will support the vertebrae and put them back into place. No use of synthetic discs, however, probably an insurance thing to keep down costs. It's 2 hours, quite long. There is nerve involvement, bulging discs, and 2 vertebrae with no disc at all, causing pain and severe lack of motion. Next week is all paperwork: deed, titles, new will, health declarations, the lot. If anything untoward happens, there will be very good stuff for sale. Leeann has my e-mail and Dan has hers. The latest issue of Epoxyworks magazine has an article, Build What You Can't Buy, that may be of interest for anyone repairing, restoring, or rebuilding an older motorhome. First sentence: "Do you sometimes need a replacement part for your boat, home or recreational vehicle and find out its no longer available?" (Emphasis added.) Epoxyworks is a free publication of Gougeon Brothers, Inc.; the makers of WEST System Epoxy. The article starts on page 19 of issue number 32, Spring 2011, and is available online at http://epoxyworks.com/ To demonstrate the extreme range of possible applications, the article includes a sidebar on Magnesium Crankcase Repair for an off-road motorcycle. 1970 Explorer Class A on a 1969 Dodge M300 chassis with 318 cu. in. (split year) 1972 Executive Class A on a Dodge M375 chassis with 413 cu. in. 1973 Explorer Class A on a Dodge RM350 (R4) chassis with 318 engine & tranny from 1970 Explorer Class A
