For those who may be interested, the latest trivia question (on another site), deals with how to find the original Dodge chassis VIN for trucks, especially motorhomes. Go to Trivia # 14 (I'm sure Leeann knows the answer to the trivia question but will probably hold off to give others a chance at the contest.) 1970 Explorer Class A on a 1969 Dodge M300 chassis with 318 cu. in. (split year) 1972 Executive Class A on a Dodge M375 chassis with 413 cu. in. 1973 Explorer Class A on a Dodge RM350 (R4) chassis with 318 engine & tranny from 1970 Explorer Class A

Yes, but the VIN is located somewhere else, in addition to the one under your hood. |

There is one on the frame also. Left side front. Just behind the fender well...

On the RV this is because a 1978 Dodge could be titled to be a 1979.

Okay Griff... I Give up. I Want the answer. Of course I'm going to check if it's not in an "obscure" place like the on the inside of the frame (right rail) just in front of the rear axle... I'm not going to drop that Fleetwood installed 45 gallon? fuel tank unless I have a a leak in it . ![]() Ken |
