Topic: How many of us are there? Owners of Dodge based RV's?

Posted By: Jer&Ger on 07/28/10 01:49pm

I just had a really dumb thing happen. I finished my roof off and was testing the AC. I noticed that the condesation from it was running off one side of the roof, so I checked the RV for level and it was off. I leveled it and all of a sudden, the condesation started coming inside [emoticon] , dripping from the houseing. I shut it off, and went up to the roof and removed the screws to remove the shroud. Then I got a call to come in for dinner, so I left it that way, but didn't come back out [emoticon] .
The next morning, I needed to use the RV for an errand (forgot about the shroud) and of course down the road off it came and hit the road in a blaze of glory [emoticon] !
So I have taped it back together for the time being [emoticon] . Do any of you guys have a clue where I might find a used one, I don't know of a recycler for RV's around here? Thanks

Al: we put in new wires to/from the alternator, upsized the ground wire and replaced the voltage regulator wiring harness. That seems to have done it.

Jer: check rvdoctorgeorge.com - phone # is on the website.

Just got my 1978 Delta home. The day I bought it (last Friday) it died 8 mile from sellers home. he took it and got it fixed. Bad steel fuel line from Fuel tank selector solenoid to Fuel pump. New rubber hose....all better. Watch those old lines.

MichiganAnnie, my coach has the exact same fold down bed setup or I should say "Had", as I just changed it to just a cabinet. Mine was a factory installed bed just for kids. It had two inserts for the inside of the openings at the doors and two 1 1/2"-2" thick foam pads for them to sleep on. I think the weight rating was about 120 lbs. max. Hope this helps some.

Yes, that helps a lot, thank you! It seems mine is missing those inserts, and there is no foam mattress. Both easy fixes. I'm pretty small, so I'd feel safe sleeping up there.
I don't think the person I bought it from even knew that cabinet folded down as he told me it slept 4! Imagine my delight when I found the extra bed. :-)

I will take some photos of it tomorrow and post them. Thank you again - you folks in this forum are awesome!

Took the motorhome out today for the first time since November. The Drive Shaft fell out onto the street. I recovered it and had it towed. Friends are telling me it should not be too expensive of a fix. Anyone agree?

Another note. I have good Sam Club Road Side Service. They could not find a tow for me. The police had to call for one since I was stalled at a light. I am very disappointed at their service. I will keep you updated if they reimburse me. [emoticon] It was $ 133.75

The u-joints are an easy fix, Be sure to replace the carrier bearing too. And get U-joints with grease fittings.
