Hi all! New to the site. We recently sold our '99 Prowler TT and bought a 1979 Tioga 24(?) footer, bunkhouse model. I don't have any pics yet, but it is exactly like the one on the cover of this 1979 factory brochure. Ours has the newer front end with 4 square headlights, though. We love it so far. We had a '79 Six-Pac camper for a few years, then the travel trailer for a few years, and now the Class C. Just moving up as our family grows, we have a 2 year old girl and a boy due in May. Probably should have just made the jump straight to an A, I've been eyeballing the generous basement storage on them. I drive big rigs for a living, so my wife has to temper my enthusiasm whenever I want to go bigger. Best part is it came with a giant folder with all of the original manuals, and essentially every receipt since '99 (including many failed smog tests with subsequent passing retests after repairs, Yikes!! Haven't had that done yet.) I believe that's when the original owner sold it, and it sold again in '03, '06, and now. She needed a little love, but we're slowly getting her fixed up. New roof vents, hatches/fills, blinds, flooring, lighting, entry step and handle, nice new awning, etc, etc...You guys will be seeing me around, this site looks like a tremendous source of info. I've spent hours reading this thread, and just I'm wondering if anyone has organized a thread of links to the best info on different subjects? You know, an easy way to navigate and comprehend the best posts about exhaust, carbs, performance upgrades, etc for these Mopar rigs. I've seen it done on other forums. If no one has, I'll most likely do it as I do my research and projects.

Welcome Sweetnessmonster. I love me the bunk beds. Looking forward to seeing the pics of YOUR rig. ![]() Someone was organizing stuff a while back, but I believe it stalled. Someone much more knowledgeable will be along shortly to correct. |

Hi and welcome! We have a lot of that info here, but not quite as organized as some places. Hey, just be glad it DOES pass smog even if you do have to do some repairs first, right? '73 Concord 20' Class A w/Dodge 440 - see profile for photo |

Welcome to "the" thread ![]() You'll get lots of information on Dodges here and the place the Leeann mentioned. Don't be afraid to ask as most of us have been there before and sometimes even have to ask on things we've forgot ![]() Ken 1978 21ft Tioga Dodge 440 Motor, 4.5kw Generac and 80 watts Solar 1984 Goldwing Interstate (Daily driver) Misc Things I've done to my RV pictures USAF Retired To Err is human... Kendas, Any chance you can shoot some pics of your step replacement and where you plan to run your welds. I also need to replace my front step. So far I have replaced all of the wood but I had to use the old one for now due to not knowing which kind to get as a replacement and how well my repair job will hold up. I would like to go from the single to a double for the kids safety. Any advice is greatly appreciated. |

Of course I'll post a link to the pictures... Like some others, I'm trying to post as many as I can so that anyone else who needs to do a similar fix has a reference to look at. Ken |

Well, more work today, Max Air Style vents installed. Storage Pod removed and 8 holes from it sealed shut. Pressure washed roof, with no water leaks inside. Vents are open for the night, beauty of max air vents. Tomorrow I will be painting the roof with a rubber paint. My neighbor is a commercial rooffer, mostly industrial buildings. He is bringing me a 5 gallon bucket of this rubber paint. I am going to do the whole roof with it and about an inch down the sides to insure the seams are sealed up. He said he has used this on his travel trailer which is of the same vintage, and it worked great for him. So another big weekend. The inside is going pretty good, only one more 4 foot section of panel inside to complete, than all the moldings to be finished. Then tackle the bath room. So the tarp is off hopefully the winter is really over. If anybody near me is looking for a pod for the roof, I can hook you up if you want it. * This post was edited 03/15/09 07:17pm by overdrive75 * |

Two things... One... yea... I might very well be interested in the pod. I need more space on mine. And two... Can you tell me more about the Max Air installation? It may sound silly, but I'm curious as all the mounting hardware seems to be for 14" vents, and the older vents are all 9". Pics are always welcome. ![]() |
