I have finally purchased 7 new 16in coined rims and getting rid of those old 16.5 coined rims, however what tire size would you recommend, LT225/75/16E or the narrow and just a lttle taller LT215/85/16E. 23ft 79 dodge class C 440mtr, how was the lower rpm,s did you still have good hp in the mountains. And my tire of choice is the bf goodrich commercial t/a all season, any problems with these tires are they quiet and smooth as many say. ![]() * This post was edited 12/26/08 10:33am by timmac * |

The 235 mm width and 85% aspect ratio gave me the maximum tire diameter. (I plan to spend a lot of time 'off-pavement' so extra ground clearance is nice.) Now that I've switched to 17" rims, I'll be going with LT235/80R17 tires. I'm planning to use Goodyear Wrangler SilentArmor tires due to their snow rating. (I'm in Alaska, where the four seasons are June, July, August, and winter.) I'll be getting a little extra tire noise but the gaining 'off-pavement' and winter traction, which suits my needs. P.S. I've spent enough time in northern climates (Minnesota and Alaska) to be convinced there's no such thing as an 'all season' tire ... I hear the climate differs a bit when you get farther south ... 1970 Explorer Class A on a 1969 Dodge M300 chassis with 318 cu. in. Did you loose any performance in the hills with the taller tires, was pulling harder on motor or the same, I have figured that with the 215/85/16 tire I should go down about 125-160 rpm's at 60 mph, my currant rpm's are 3000 at 60 mph. I will be going from a 16.5 tire at 28.45 inch tall to 16 tire at 29.9 inch tall and increasing a extra 3500lbs of safety over the 16.5. * This post was edited 12/26/08 07:52pm by timmac * |

Hello, I got into my 1976 Dodge Travelmate which has been stored with a tarp on the roof for about two months. I noticed some moisture in the carpet between the passenger and driver seats. I have no idea how that could happen. There are no leaks in the roof above. Should I keep a window cracked open all winter long for some ventilation? There is no moisture in the carpet from the cabin on back. Any thoughts? Thanks, * This post was edited 01/04/09 06:59pm by goreds2 * See Picture In My Profile I have a 1989 Dodge XPLORER RV Class B - Purchased 10/15/10 IN CASH Fiance' purchased a Class C 2002 Dynamax Carri-go on 5/1/15 IN CASH We've got the best of both worlds |

Goreds2 While my rig is very different, when we has water between passenger seat and the sofa behind it, it was a leak where the awning was lag screwed into the rubber roof, The water ran down in the wall and out onto the carpet. Caught it early, and Dicor caulk fixed it. You may spray carpet w/ Lysol if it was real wet. Love the Shorty rig in the profile! 2005 Trail Lite 213 B-Plus w/ 6.0 Chevy ![]() |

Like some of you I am waiting for spring. I have things I want to do on my old bus but the weather is not co-operating, not to mention that I feel like hibernating this time of year. Here's to spring, may she come early....
I don't think anyones dying statement ever contained the words "I wish I had spent more time in the office", so lets go somewhere! |

Kendas, I bought one of those Vector's to charge the engine battery and I liked it, so I bought another to maintain the house battery. The second one lasted about a month. Then the first one died too after about a year and a half. |
