Topic: How many of us are there? Owners of Dodge based RV's?

Mine's a Coleman. We even have a complete spare unit (slightly newer, but essentially the same).

That's how the burner looked after about 1/2 hour of cleaning - you couldn't see the channels at all until then; that's how rusty it was.

Eye, I second treeseekers post... HomeDepo I know has the masonite board that looks like white shower tiles on one side.. and they have the textured vinyl sheets. I used the vinyl sheets for their flexibility when I redid my shower.( I talked about this previously) I am real happy with it, just had to use the silicone tub and tile calking to affix it to old wall. Anywho, they have the masonite and vinyl and mouldings for it right there... in my store it is in the back and near the moulding dept like treeseeker said.

I don't think anyones dying statement ever contained the words "I wish I had spent more time in the office", so lets go somewhere!

I didn't think if the vinyl floor stuff. I was at Home Depot, and they had what I wanted... just not in individual sheets. I'm not sure how the masonite or the melamine would hold up to water. Do you have any photos of the completed job? The only "issue" with the vinyl is it really forms to the surface and shows any little blemishes you might have. Didn't you have issues with the glue as well?

Eyeteeth,

The plastic sheets I saw were not vinyl; or at least some of them were not, I didn't look too closely. The ones I looked at were rigid so maybe they were polycarbonate or ABS.

Still no luck on the shower stuff. I may have to start searching online. They all have what I'm looking for in their displays... but I can't buy just a sheet or two of it. Its only available as a "kit" for $200+ which comes with a bunch of junk I don't need. (and only contains $40 worth of plastic, ABS, or whatever it is...

We got out to our camp spot FRiday night... and as it was set to drop well into the 30's... fired up the furnace first thing. Only it wouldn't light. We pulled it apart again, and double checked everything. AFter about 20 mins on the phone with my dealership friend, he had me try something he remembered his father doing. I went out and covered the intake while it was starting up. That's all it took. Explanation. The heat sensor is probably a little too far away from the pilot and with the air being rather cold... the sensor never warmed up enough to open the gas all the way before it tripped off believing there was no flame. Once it got going, the thing kept us more than warm enough all night long. The wife actually got up and turned it down at one point as she was too warm. [emoticon]

Also, I now have both my tank vents replaced. Man... scraping off 30 years worth of "permanent" weather proof sealer gunk = not fun. But it feels good to not have dry rotted, cracked, unseal-able plastic vents any more.

Hope everyone else either had fun or was productive this weekend.

phew - glad you got the furnace lit!

We got the 2 pieces of the tv antnna/cable off, cleaned up, 2 pieces of tin cut & bedded in with 5200 and machine screws. These were our last roof leaks, so we're happy to have 'em fixed. We also drained the freshwater tank and water heater since we're not going out again. Fired up the genny and ran the AC for a bit as a load. You know, the piddly little things [emoticon]

Eye, I don't know why you are having difficulty finding suitable materials for your shower area. You're not that far from where I live, and every store has these panels available...

BUT

as an alternative, have you considered leaving what you have in there, then applying a couple of coats of truck bed liner (colored) over everything? Now THAT is a surface that won't ever fail!

Just an idea... I might even try it on my roof! [emoticon]

She ain't purdy, but at least she's slow!

Eye, The vinyl stuff I used comes in 4x8' sheets. I think they were right at 20.00 each. It is white about 3/16" thick with one smooth side for adhevsive and a light textured for the exposed side, and they had corner and end cap mouldings right by it. I started with the short wall, cut the piece to fit, put that piece up then set the first corner moulding, then cut the next piece and worked my way around that way... I will try and get a photo loaded on today. I found that the silicone tub and tile caulk worked the best for adhesive. I used it to fasten the panels to my walls and also to seal the corners. I would run a bead down the grove in the moulding before I set the panel. It worked great for me but I just have a shower stall about 30" square. With panels, moulding and caulk I think it was around 60.00 total.
