Is there any hint of ammonia smell when it's running? If not, take it out and turn it on its head for 2 hours, then turn it back over and plug it in. It should run fine then. As for the gas fill bezel: http://rvpartsoutlet.com/index.php?cPath........&osCsid=55731d9f95f9aa5336faa4ef7728a157 '73 Concord 20' Class A w/Dodge 440 - see profile for photo |

If not, I may know of other sources. (As a final resort, I could repair or make a new one for you.) RE: replacing the refrig with a mini-frig ... how long is your extension cord? If you're always staying where hook-ups are available, mini-frig is an option. If you dry-camp a lot, propane is just about a must. Make sure your frig is level ... propane refrigerators are really picky about being 'off kilter". Also, make sure everything is clean. (The refrig in my house is propane -- left over from before the powerlines reached our property -- and it gets finicky if it's off-level or dirty.) first i'd like to thank everyone for their warm welcomes. it is funny that when i was younger all i would have seen is all of the things wrong with my rig, but i think that now since i am a bit seasoned all i see is all of the things right. i am continually amazed when i start the new rig up that she starts and that most everything continues to work. this'll be fun, i am going to take each item on one at a time. as far as the fridge it appears to be level and i do not smell ammonia so i need to look at further. next question- mine evidently has had some water damage over the front sleeper over the cab- question is if i start taking everything out what exactly is in there and how hard is it to replace, seal, and rebuild? i am a little bit scared...

It's level now - but might have been run somewhere while the rig was NOT level. So remove it, stick it on its head for 2 hours, then try again. Common occurrence with gas absorption refrigerators. |
