Topic: How many of us are there? Owners of Dodge based RV's?

Excellent diagram!!! This is the system that seems to work the best.

Check valve is important because if provides for pressurized and non-pressurized sides to the system.

I'm going to go with a pressure tank and cooresponding pump (like rural residential systems) but that's just my preference. (The pressure tank acts as buffer to stabilize the water flow.) The pressure tank can be placed anywhere on the pressurized side of the system, connected via a tee.

Look carefully at the diagram right around the check valve. Notice the pump itself is on the non-pressurized side of check valve, with a pressure sensor switch on the other, pressurized side of the check valve. This is another aspect that seems to work best.

Hi Folks... Totally new to the RV thing..bought a '74 Tioga 23ft from an old acquaintance with 39,000 miles,360 engine..It's been maintained and runs fine.. but I'm having trouble finding even basic information about the engine like what oil filter/air filters, belts etc..I don't even know if it's a 2 or 4 barrel etc..None of the books in parts stores go back that far.. Any source of info will be appreciated? Thanks

Find the VIN and post. Someone will come up with the answers you need. As far as the house is concerned... You can e-mail Fleetwood with the Tioga VIN/Model number and they will mail you the house wiring diagrams if they still have them.

39,000 miles in 37 years is a little over a thousand miles per year ... while it may have been well maintained, it's unlikely the oil was changed as often as it should have been.

On infrequently used vehicles, the oil should be changed every three months regardless of accumulated miles. The exception is if the vehicle wasn't driven after the last oil change.

Whenever I've bought an older truck, the first thing I do is change the oil, drive it fifty miles down a highway, drive it back, and change the oil again.

Changing the oil before a trip is a good idea but changing the oil after a trip will contribute longer engine life.

Here and I thought it's because I'm cheap.

Well, yeah. No slide-outs to break, no 50amp uh-ohs that would require a team of trained electricians for 7 days to figure out, no payments (my personal favorite), reasonable insurance rates, sensible engines out of steel, and all that.

Plus we are cool.

Exactly! Fewer moving parts (always good), motors we actually can work on (gee, what a thought), no computerized stuff, NO PAYMENTS, better insurance AND tags....Absolutely no difference in fuel mileage.

And we get looks everywhere we go [emoticon]

Whoops.. I just posted a reply in the regular Class C forum...Never saw this box..The point was Thanks to you guys for the help etc..For now I'll check the parts on the engine now and match them that way..This RV does seem to be in very good shape..It was in his family since New...first his grandfather, then him, and he's done some ungrades, etc on it...You guys seem much more mechanically competent than me, so your advice will be much appreciated if/when I need it! Thanks
