Cool, jc!

We have to light our water heater pilot manually, from the outside, when we get where we're going. Stays lit the whole trip, though.

Furnace is a little more involved and we're just starting to play with ours - and clean out some years of crud. bf's outside lighting it again now, actually...

Personally, I kinda like having to light/switch things manually. That way I know what they're doing. I've seen more than one post in these forums about people wondering why they're popping cicuits, or running out of gas and they don't realize the "auto" settings switch to AC power as soon as it's available. Which may overload a Genset's output... or cause problems when your hot water, refridge, A/C and toaster all oll going and you decide you want to "nuke" something...

Yep, it's a nice thing to have manual control and not worry about having to replace control circuit boards ain't it?

The only thing I have that uses power all the time is the replacement monitor panel I put in to fix some electric problems... A whopping 20ma current draw. 80 watts of solar on the roof handles that and the battery charging of a single group 27m quite well.

Oh, I actually like it, too.

Yes Leeann I like my old rig, its simple and was built back when I still understood some of the mechanical stuff. Finally got it cleaned up enough I felt safe in plugging in shore power and checking things out, fridge cooled nicely, water pump turns on, plugins all work and all the lights but 1 with florencent tubes worked. whooohoooo... maybe just need some new tubes in the one light.

I don't think anyones dying statement ever contained the words "I wish I had spent more time in the office", so lets go somewhere!

Woohoo!

Sounds like yours is in pretty good shape, Al [emoticon]

Well Leeann, pretty good shape is a relative term, but so far most of what I see is minor stuff, some water damage in the overhead may be pretty bad, I haven't tore is apart yet to see how bad. Other than that its mostly nickel and dime stuff, but like I said, for 400 bucks didn't feel I could go to wrong.

Newbie here on the forum I have read alot throughout this thread and there is alot of good things here. I have owned my Coach for about 5yrs now. I bought it from the original owner who retired from Dodge so I got that hook up. He replaced everything in it new tanks new AC(he was a big Glamis guy and wanted it cold inside) built the engine, everything. The only thing that I would like to do is paint it, it is ugly. Has anyone painted theirs yet. I dont want it look bad. But I dont want showroom quality.

Does anyone know if there is a way to know how my water system should be hooked up? PO said that the line was broken going into the bathroom and was disconnected. As I started trying to trace it, looks like the only thing hooked up and working is cold water to galley sink via the fresh water holding tank through the onboard pump. City water comes in and does a 3 way t, one heads to back, one appears to be a drain, though I don't see a shut off to keep water from just draining all the time. 3rd line should go to galley I think but is cut. Looks like there should be some kind of connection on this cut line linking up with galley sink line in from the pump? I know this is confusing, maybe if someone has something similar sounding they could send me a picture of how theres hooks up or a diagram? Alot to ask I know. Any help would be appreciated..... thanks,, Al

Stupid double post...

Nope, we haven't painted ours yet. But we will...

Check out Aug. Hot Rod (Griff posted a link somewhere later in the thread) to the $99 paint job. Looks good, too.
