Hmmm....sounds like maybe carb. bf says maybe running lean - also, check your plug gap. If it is to spec, narrow them a bit. If you haven't changed either plugs or wires (or coil) recently, do so.
Yep. Leeann nailed this one, too. Lean and hot = backfires.
Check your thermostat, if it's 180 (or whatever they are now) run a 163 instead.
Dont' be afraid to open the rad cap --when it's cold!-- to make sure your anti-freeze is not only full, but no more than 1/2 [distilled] water. Mix 1:1 distilled water and green Zerex (NOT the gold stuff) with a shot of Barrs Leak for a happy radiator. Note: Due to invalid formatting, all formatting has been ignored. |

Carb... easy 'nuff. Still no manual though. Is it a simple screw adjustment somewhere?

What carb do you have on that thing? I have a Holley svc. manual here, but the Dodge manual is at home if you have a Carter...

Oh, yea, lol. Good question. I beleive it is the original 2 barrel. So... would that be the Carter? I know a lot of "you" (lol) have put different carbs on for better power, I'im more interested in better fuel economy without losing power. I'm OK with the current power level. I'm not it a hurry to be anywhere, and the thing seems far too happy to cruise along a 70mph now. |

Heh - mine came with a TQ from the factory...and the '75 360 came with a Holley 2245 (pos, btw) also from the factory. Many others came with a Carter. So that's the question.... If you have a Carter BBD, here's the Chrysler MTSC booklet on it for '73 you can view online and download (page by page): http://www.imperialclub.com/Repair/Lit/Master/303/cover.htm And more Carter stuff: http://www.tocmp.com/manuals/Carbs/Carter/ServiceUniveral/index.htm |

![]() That was almost fun. lol. ya know... it's kinda cool where you can park and have lunch. the service was terrible, but the view was pretty good. ![]() Ran into what appears to be a "recurring" problem. Happens mostly at highway speeds... after traveling for a couple hours. Occasionally, when when going up an incline... can be slight, they engine will stumble, buck, then eventually catch again. Sometimes, when it's really bad, it will even backfire... several times. Out of curiosity... once, when it was running fine again, I floored it... and it did the same thing. Any ideas? |

Trish Davis wrote: ![]() Eric .. We got DSL. 10 years of dial-up, we deserve it. Took AT&T that long to run the DSL lines --or whatever they are. However, what I've got right now is a message from Yahoo mail saying "we are experiencing a problem, it happens a lot, be patient, or bite me" or words to that effect.... I got about half the 66 pics downloaded, what about I send them to Leeann for a look-see? Are you /your ISP game, my dear? I have no clue how to upload them to this site /any site. Yes, actually, I am too old to learn. Solid lifters I can handle, j.pegs, no way. Ahh, Leeann, the Concord... saw that, gotta be at least 25' and yours, at 20' is one thing, 5 more feet of conventional construction ...uhm, no. Too heavy. Trish, sorry for the troubles with "Greg" or "Charlie" (whatever his name actually is and where ever he resides). I did get your message yesterday but couldn't return it at that moment. I live in abrupt area of the state. My i-net options are dial-up (which I have), DSL (out of range), ISDN (out of range), wireless high-speed (ski hill is in the line of site), or cable ($140.00 a month). Cell signals barely work, if at all. So, I'll have to do my surfing while at work! ![]() ![]() So, yes I can help post pics (thanks for the assist Leeann!) or other things. And, you guys wanted bling? "Wait til they get a load of me!"... ![]() She ain't purdy, but at least she's slow! ![]() |

We don't have a whole lot of bling (yet), but we do have a pair of emblems like these to put on the sides under the front windows:![]() We are planning on cleaning up the rims then painting them with chrome paint (ours didn't come with wheel covers). We also have to paint the whole thing at some point, but that's behind all of the other 'gotta-dos'. The daughter of a woman I know sews really well (I can do buttons; that's all), so she's going to sew covers for our dinette cushions this winter. Of course, we don't HAVE dinette cushions, so we get to pick out the material and foam (and get the foam sized properly) ourselves. She'll do the rest for a mere pittance (she's 16). I kinda can't wait to see what it'll look like! |

Cool LA! I could use a set of those for the sides of my scoop on the Charger... My "bling" is self-imposed, and clashes nicely with the apple green of my old rig! You want to wait until the new tires are mounted or should I "sneak-a-peak" first? ![]() |
