Topic: How many of us are there? Owners of Dodge based RV's?

I agree ,Stephanie, with the stated fixes. However, if the choke doesn't work correctly, the carb won't work correctly either. The carb works on engine vacuum signals which are distrurbed with the choke not functioning properly.

I'd bet a good shot of GumOut would cure most of your ails. Be sure to spray the linkages, too.

Oh, and back a few pages, MasterBoonDocks discussion of the heat cross-overs? You might have that issue as well. But let's start with the easy (and nearly free) things first!
[ If it's a poly engine, then yes, it has solid lifters. If it's a hemi, it has solid lifters! :B (That last part I'm not certain of, other than the early ones)
Early slant sixes have solid lifters too. But that's beside the point. Did I pass one of you guys on Rt 81 in PA Saturday night about 11:30 or so? I was on my way back from Carlisle and passed a Dodge Class C that looked pretty good.

i Mungo,

check this site out. He says he has or can get any manual you want. I order one for my 1977 Dodge 360 chassis Chinook.

Got one from him for my 78 Tioga on a Dodge chassis... Covers the 440-3 truck engine, does not cover the 440-1 police interceptor motor that's in mine. Have e-mail into him about it.

Nope. Travco I am after now resides in Sandusky, Ohio.
uh.. what were you doing in Carlisle?
Is there a show /swap meet I dont' know about?

RobinhoodRV /Stephanie...

Listen to these guys, they know what they're talking about.
The X-over pipe can be a bugger, search this thread for it. Tells you things you never want to hear from a mechanic... Not at 70 an hour, you don't.

However, I suggest starting with the gas tank itself.
I had this issue with my Merc (41 Cpe), the gas had been sitting in it for 6 years (my bad) and pretty much turned to shellac and other gross things.

Dump some "Sta-Bil" into the tank, let it sit. You can get Sta-Bil at any Auto Zone, good stuff. I swear by it now.
Because after dropping the Merc's tank (in how many languages can you say" 'horrible sucky stinky work?'), the sandblasting and coating of the original tank cost 200, is why I swear by it.

Also, blow out all the fuel lines. If one has been replaced you might find one tiny bit of metal clogging your fuel line. An extra in-line fuel filter is a good move, too.
Yes, this also happened to me....

Big John, if you passed it (read: SLOW), then it could have been me! [emoticon] Except mine hasn't hit the road yet. And my old Dodge does not look good at all! [emoticon]

So Trish, you're moving on the local rig?

Corvettes at Carlisle. I was down there for the day to see the show and hang out with some buddies. I have a '91.

It was really hot that day and after most people had left, a big storm rolled through and did some damage at the fairgrounds.

Most likely. Pros and cons, y'know. Mostly the length.

The '68 22' is OUT of the question...go read his ad on Tin Can Tourists, he copped a serious mail over that one. Sheesh.

But still looking. You never know.....
