When Bob (66 Travco) sends the pics, I will fwd to Eric who can post them from his fancy whiz-bang work computer. Then everyone can see. Also, eBay seller whiteknight1 has new distributors for old Dodges. About 80 with the shipping. Good bye, points. |

Birdsong's Chinook rebuild is a must-read. It will be necessary to re-read several parts because you'll be laughing so hard. Thank you, Leeann. |

Hmmm....could eBay seller whiteknight1 perhaps be the same whiteknight that started this here thread? And definitely good-bye, points. I'm really glad mine came with the optional electric ignition...I hate points ![]() 22' is most definitely easier to maneuver. My 20' shocked the heck out of me in the gas station - I almost hit the pumps because it turned SO much better than I expected (and better than my '90 Dodge van) ![]() Yep, new switches. With buss bar. And circuit breakers for things like the water pump, furnace fan, fridge, interior lights....and the panel they're mounted on. Which looks a whole lot better installed, but I can't find a photo of that right now. It mounts next to the 110v breaker panel - that's what the 'bump out' on the left is for. ![]() The converter/charger is mounted behind. Birdsong's Chinook rebuild is a must re-read. I've read it several times (laughing all the way). He's a member here, btw. '73 Concord 20' Class A w/Dodge 440 - see profile for photo |

I've met 92 individuals that use "white" and "knight" in their handle. So far... This just sets me on my ear- 130 pages!!! Dang!! Howdy to everyone, My name is Mikel and I just purchased an 18 foot Open Road RV (1970)as part of a lake lot deal. As I understand it, the Open Road RVs are Dodge based, but I am having more trouble finding information on them than I expected. The old girl is in great shape, roof is solid, no water damage to speak of, solid sheet metal, no real rust.. but I can't find out much of anything on the internet about 1970 Open Road RVs and there is no owners manual with the camper.. I still need to put a battery in it and see if it runs, (the seller said it was started and ran last fall) it is currently semi-permanantly parked with concrete blocks under the frame for leveling, but for now that is a fine place for it while I am getting manuals together and such. Anyone have any sources of info on Open Road RV's from the early '70's?? I would really like to find an owners manual and maybe a parts manual for the motor and drivetrain. Thanks and nice to meet y'all.. Mikel in Kansas |

Fella was decent enough to tell me up front it has discharge issues --you know it, Eric!-- out of that "built-in battery charger" Dodge was so fond of. 1900 or swap for something...Wonder if he wants a boat and 2 outboards. So old it's got solid lifters! But not old enough it has a push button transmission. Longer than I'd like, but hey. Oh hey, Eric... there're 4 brand new stainless 16.5 wheel covers on Detroit craigslist for 125. Yes, dear... Leeann and I want you to pimp your ride. If it's a poly engine, then yes, it has solid lifters. If it's a hemi, it has solid lifters! ![]() Pimp my ride? You betcha! But I have 16" wheels now. I was going to paint them black with silver rims, but suddenly I'm thinking old-school, red with silver rims and paint on nice, big white-walls! That ought to clash nicely with the apple green! And the hunt continues for a pair of front fender flares and spoiler... For all the rain we got yesterday, my interior faired well. Only a small puddle on the floor and my new cushions are wet, otherwise I lucked out big-time! Picked up a new fuel pump too, but couldn't install it- too wet outside. Maybe later in the week. Trish, I'll check my e-mail shortly... She ain't purdy, but at least she's slow! ![]() |

whiteknight001 wrote: ![]() This just sets me on my ear- 130 pages!!! Dang!! You started it ...... Eric, No mail, no pics last evening from Bob. Yes, 318 poly. Solids. You bet it (or whichever) will get a new distributor, I'm with Leeann on that. Points and breaker plates are fine IF you can see them. Mikel, Stick around, folks here are terrific at finding things for you. Look on allpar.com, great for general Dodge info. eyeteeth, then YOU buy the 16.5 covers, we know you have original wheels, they'd look real good on your rig. Yeah, with the cash you saved from the laminate.... Ok, what do you polish fiberglass with? No way is that getting all-over paint, much too expensive. Stripe, yes. Shiny, yes. |
