Thanks, I just purchased an RV and I did not know that although the tires looked great, they were about 5 years old. I drove from Tampa to Omaha this week. After 1000 miles, the RV started a shimmy. This lasted about 1 mile then the outside rear tire blew just outside of St.Louis. Good Sams got us the emergency service for $75 and in 2 hours the spare was mounted and away we went.
Outside of Kansas City, the shimmy started so we started slowing down. Bang, the inside dual same side blew. Too embarrased to call Good Sam again, we limped into a Dodge dealership at 10 miles / hour. They called a service that charged us $150 for the emergency service and $122 for the tire. Away we went.
Today, I upgraded to Firestone Transforce Rating E. I have some confidence now on blow outs but most of all my new tires and checking them.

Glad to see you have a 2000 Xplorer 230 XLWT. Will be buying one soon, I hope. Any notes that you would like to pass on would be forever saved. I think that the xplorer ( for us ) would suit our needs perfectly. E.T. Cabo San Lucas, BCS, Mex.
